I had purchased a 1990 ponitac sunbird in 97 i put down $700 on it. Well i had a wreck in august of 97 my insurance ruraled out that my car was totaled. They told me that my car was only worth $3600. Well when i looked at my car papers eldorado wanted $8,000 for my car so that left me having to pay the remaining balance. I fill that they should have the price on the windows of the cars along with the blue book value price.

I would suggest that if your going to get a car from eldorado you need to have a blue book available with you that way you can't get cheated.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

Insurance payoff v Real price

AUTHOR: LCAS Tulsa - (United States of America)

I would like to point out that dealers like these finance people with bad to horrible credit.  As a result, their prices tend to be higher.  Also, insurance companies tend to pay "wholesale" minus the deductible.

If you are unhappy with the price, you simply shouldn't buy.

I have been in and out of court @ least 9 times over a vehicle i bought from them back in 2001.The first week i had it the transmission went out, so i contacted the tulsa store and they said bring it in and they would look @ it.well they called me back stating yes we have found a transmission and it would cost 2000.00 to put it in,If you put up 1000.00 dollars now we will put the other on your note.I told them to stick it where the sun dont shine and left it there.Well I got an attorney and after numerous attempts to get money outta me for a vehicle i dont have they agreed on 25.00 a paycheck till paid in full with all interest and penalty fee stopped @ time of signing.Well just this saturday I received a letter from them that its time to review my income for payment.Time to get the lawyer again. They are goin to get sued for breaking an agreement in a court of law signed by the judge also.Man what idiots....

Consumer responsibility.

It is up to the consumer to have a mechanic look at a vehicle they are buying and to make sure its worth its value..i wouldn't buy a car from a used lot w/o some sort of written warranty. I bought a car off an 11th street used dealer..knowing he was a snake I made him sign a form that says he will fix all things that go wrong for 1 year. I will buy part he will supply labor. The first 3 mos were hell for his mechanic...he was following me around town fixing and repairing that vehicle..after that it ran great and owned that car for 5 years thereafter, before buying a truck from a private person.

Instead of always blaming the company people need to do their own homework first. It only takes 10 feet and a signature and you own that vehicle..why put yourself in a position like that when you have every opportunity to get your own mechanic to look at it, or hire one on the side for $20 after he gets off work to look at it.
