ELocalListing.com Charged my credit card for website optimization which they never did. Temecula California

I received a call from Andy at elocallisting.com who said his company could perform website optimization so when someone was looking for health insurance, life insurance, etc in the Reno, NV area my website would be at on near the top of the search results page. They said it would take several days to complete this task and charged me $99 setup fee and $149 a month.

After being charged the above fees I waited a couple of weeks and checked online to see where my website placed using the "key words" they recommended. My website was not listed until page 8 on Yahoo local listings and page 11 on MSN. It was on page 5 on the local listing for Yellowpage.com.

I called Andy and asked him about the results and he said I needed to be patient, the process takes time. After a few weeks longer the search results were the same.

I called back and was assured their technical people would get right on this problem. Unfortunately, I forgot about checking the search results for some time but eventually when I remembered there was no change or improvement in search positioning.

After being charged for five months and getting no results I called to cancel my account. The customer service rep acted like she was in total disbelief that my website didn't place at the top of the search page. She stopped the charges to my credit card and said someone from the company would be getting in touch with me to correct this problem and give me a credit for the months I paid for nothing.

I never heard from anyone from elocallisting.com and believe they probably are pulling the same scam on businesses all over the country. I have talked to two other local businesses who have been contacted by elocallisting with the same sales pitch. Lucky for them I informed them about this company and they didn't go through with the transaction.
