EMC Mortgage ripoff Irving Texas

EMC Mortgage first called me in the early part of February (06)about my February payment. I explained to them that I had paid it through my bank (Washington Mutual) and that I would check with Washington Mutual the next business day. I don't recall the exact date of this, but it was in early February.

The next day I called Washington Mutual and explained the situation. They informed me that $1200.00 was debited from my account and that EMC had the money. At that point I asked if I could see the cancelled check. Washington Mutual told me that this was an electronic transaction and that they would give me the routing number and the transaction code. After getting this from Washington Mutual, I called EMC mortgage back and gave them this information. They opened an investigation up and told me that it would take anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 month to resolve the issue.

Two weeks went by and I called EMC back to see if there was any progress on the issue. They informed me that they were still investigating it and that they should have it resolved soon. This was in the 3rd week of February. I checked back 5 times over the next month with the same progress report. At this point we were getting to the end of March and I decided to become even more involved in resolving this issue.

I decided to call Washington Mutual back and explain the situation again. They then informed me that there was a check cut to EMC mortgage. At that point I requested a copy of the cancelled check. On March 30th, I sent EMC a copy of the cancelled check. The date today is June 7th, it has been 84 days since I have sent this cancelled check to EMC Mortgage.

During this time, I have been harassed for a payment that I have already paid. They have called me 2-3 times a month. I have spent at least 7 hours on the phone with this company and they still will not credit the payment to my account. The one thing they did well is not report any of this to the credit agencies (which they shouldn't).

EMC is the worst company I have ever dealth with. I believe that they should honestly not be in business. I am now refi'ing my loan and still have not been credited with that payment.
