I had a Providian credit card which was brought out by Emerge Mastercard. Their, Emerge's, interest rate is approximately 29%, when my Providian was much less. All of their fee's are much much more also. I ended up closing the account, but I had a large balance so I am still paying this card off. I pay more towards the interest than I do the principle. I cannot afford to pay much more than the minimum amount.
