Encompass Recovery Group Way too expensive, way too slow, way too misleading Hollywood FL Florida

I saw some negative reports on this company, but was hopeful and desperate enough to attempt working with them.  In the beginning, they were helpful - my monthly payment was reduced by half, and they answered my emails within a couple of days.  After six months, I was no longer able to afford the large monthly payments, and I came into some money that I wanted to use to pay off my entire debt.  When I contacted the company, they said that only four of my six creditors had settled.  I did the math, and I should have paid in more than enough to settle those four companies.  Unfortunately, the fees involved (some sort of legal protection???) took a large chunk of the payments I had made.  I decided to pay enough to pay off those settlements, and then handle the last two creditors myself.  After six months, this professional debt negotiation company couldn't negotiate?  The debit company took the normal payment from my account, which after the ridiculous fees left $118 that should have been refunded.  I was told it would take 3-4 weeks for it to be settled and refunded. 

After five weeks, I do not have my refund.  Today I got an email (from the same representative who told me 3-4 weeks) that their compliance department is auditing my account, to make sure THEY didn't make any errors.  That is not my problem.  No matter how desperate you are, please do not use this company.  Find a non-profit organization, or a company with a better representation.  This company is not going to help you.
