On 1/3/2012 @ 4:48pm I rented a New Chevy Extended Cab Pickup from Enterprise Rental located at 409 S. Roxboro St, Durham, NC 27701 Phone Number 919-682-8720. I rented this vehicle because I was involved in a car accident and needed to get home which is approximately 90 miles away. I rented the truck one way with me dropping it off in Roanoke Rapids, NC. This 2012 truck did not have any damage or receive any damage by me or anyone else between the time I rented and dropped it off. Prior to dropping truck off I put $15 of gas in tank so it was at the gas level I rented it. I locked the truck and placed the keys in the lock box. My wife met me at Enterprise at around 6:30pm and we left.

I received a letter on 1/13/2012 from Enterprise Rent-A-Car/ DRU stating that I had damaged or had a loss to the vehicle I had rented on 1/3/2012. DRU requests that I submit my insurance carrier info so they can bill my Insurance. I have not and will not do this without my Attorney having a field day with them first.

There is one thing I have found odd about this document. According to the Rental Receipt I printed online it has the Start Date as 1/3/2012 @ 4:48pm and End Date as 1/4/2012 @ 7:53am. This confirms that someone clocked the Truck in that morning. The other odd thing is the mileage, Start 5,717 and End 5,865 which is 148 miles. The total distance from where I rented truck to the drop off is no more than 100 miles. So, this is the first of many updates regarding this Fraudulent Activity being committed by Enterprise Rent A Car. I will keep everyone posted when I receive more info.

Enterprise can be very good if you don't get emotional

AUTHOR: frankmc - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 19, 2016

I just returned a car today, and they told me that there was hail damage and charged me the deductable of my insurance policy, which is $500.

I let the agent went ahead and did what he needed to do, and went home, put my thought together, and wrote a nice letter to the customer service through their website.

It was not an angry letter. In the letter, i told them that I don't think i am responsible for the hail damage because i didn't drive through hail. I also told them that the agent that I dealt with was polite and friendly to me although he had to charge me $500. I told them that I've been a royal customer, and I wish that the outcome of this incident can lead me to a better opinion toward them in the future.

30 minutes after i sent the email, the agent called me and said he is going to drop the $500 charge. The letter worked like a charm.

If you think you are mistreated, send their customer service a nice letter and be respectful. you might be surprised. I was surprised how easy this was.

Yes, indeed.  This is by no means an isolated incident. There are WAY too many reports of exactly the same scam being pulled by "Criminal Enterprise" on this site alone, not counting the over 1 million complaints found by a simple Google search on this complaint. This has become Standard Operating Procedure at Enterprise.  What I wonder is, what are they going to do for customers once they have scammed all of the ones they now have ?

Why ERAC is my FORMER employer...

AUTHOR: Paul - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, January 28, 2012

Because I found a better job. No one wakes up and dreams of working for Enterprise Rent A Car. It's a temporary solution that sometimes becomes a permanent one once a certain comfort level is achieved. I'm fortunate that I'm also in the National Guard and have deployed once to Iraq and once to Afghanistan giving me two, one year breaks and several months of leave which allowed me to do a little more job hunting than most employees. Bear in mind, these guys work 55-60 hours a week listening to every little b***h and moan customers can think of. None of them really WANT to be there, but it's rough times and they're happy to have a stable job that pays.

What's sad is, if you were the slightest bit patient and understanding with them, most employees would go above and beyond to help you out. But when you scream and holler and throw a temper-tantrum like a d**n 2 year old, yelling about how unfair the world is and that it can't POSSIBLY have been YOUR fault because Jesus knows you've NEVER been at fault for anything in your life, well, that's when they stop wanting to help you, write you up in their mind as just one more whiny customer, and move on to someone who will appreciate what they do day in and day out.

Have you even TALKED to the DRU? I bet you haven't. You saw a letter and threw a temper-tantrum, called your attorney and threatened to hold your breath until he helped you against this evil, bad company that makes money! I bet if you called them and acted like an ADULT, you'd find out that A.) The damage is under $100.00 SO THEY'RE NOT GOING TO PURSUE YOU FOR THE DAMAGES. B.) It was a misunderstanding and THEY'RE NOT GOING TO PURSUE YOU FOR THE DAMAGES or C.) It was damaged while it was on the empty lot in which case YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGES PER THE CONTRACT.

Man up, call them, and find out what's going on. Then you can have your hissy fit and maybe mommy will bring you your binky.

Criminal Enterprise strikes again

AUTHOR: Joseph Brown - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, January 28, 2012

Well Paul,FORMER employee, I guess you haven't read the hundreds of complaints against your FORMER employer on this site alone for this same scam. Who knows how many more complaints are floating around. This has been, and continues to be, the number one complaint against your FORMER employer, so I'm assuming it's true. By the way, your FORMER employer tried to pull the same scam on me several years ago, but after a word of prayer your FORMER employer had a change of heart. Now why not tell us why they are your FORMER employer.

You signed the contract

AUTHOR: Paul - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, January 28, 2012

As a former employee at both the Damage Recovery Unit AND multiple rental branches, I get tired of hearing the complaints and rantings of disgruntled customers.

YOU ignored the contract, which is conveniently printed on the rental agreement and details the charges you stand liable for in the event of damage to the vehicle.

YOU declined the coverage, convinced that your insurance would cover you in the event of damage to the vehicle.

YOU took the risk of leaving the vehicle unattended overnight on an open lot, knowing full well you'd be charged for a full day. Had you read the contract, you'd have known that you were responsible for damages regardless of fault. In fact, I bet the person who helped you with it probably mentioned that when they were discussing additional coverage.

Above all, YOU signed the contract. You placed your signature in agreement witht the terms and conditions and probably even initialed a little picture of a car stating there was "No Damage".

I'm not saying you damaged the vehicle. All I'm saying is, you signed the contract agreeing to ALL of the terms and conditions, which includes agreeing to be responsible for the condition of the vehicle regardless of fault.

Sorry Man. Life is full of unfairness. Next time take the waiver and don't be liable for anything on the car. For $20, you could have avoided all this trouble.

It's not fraud...it's business. You signed a contract. When others sign a contract with you, you expect them to honor it. When you sign a contract, the same expectations apply.

Criminal Enterprise the scammers

AUTHOR: Joseph Brown - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Wow, another sanitary email from Genelle, the robot! She must be Flo from the insurance company commercials. When in the world is Criminal Enterprise going to be shut down? And not only that, but when will Genelle or some other robot dispute our calling the company, Criminal Enterprise. Maybe we speak the truth. Personally I'm waiting.

Enterprise

AUTHOR: Diogenes - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, January 16, 2012
Enterprise is well known for this scam on their customers.  Unfortunately, most people just pay rather than dispute the charges.  I indeed hope that you do get your attorney involved in this.  Enterprise is nothing more than a criminal activity, plain and simple.  This is why they have been dubbed " Criminal Enterprise " on this site.  Please keep us updated.
