Equis Financial Equis lied to me Asheville North Carolina

I worked with Equis Financial for a short time starting in 2017.  I decided it really wasn't for me after my first purchase of leads.  I sold zero policies with Equis, but since I didn't have much support from the group that I signed up with, I wanted to simply work for someone local.

After leaving Equis, they refused to release me from an insurance company.  They told me I had to wait six months for the release because they said that basically it was up to the insurance carrier.  Well, I called the insurance carrier and they told me that Equis could release me if they simply signed a transfer form.  They sent me the transfer form and I forwarded that form to Equis Financial.  Despite selling zero policies they still would not release me, and I proved it wasn't the carrier but rather it was them.

Then, I was told that for reasons they could not tell me, that would not ever release me from the carrier (fortunately, I only have to wait another couple of months and I'll be fine).

Anyway, I never want to work for NAA, Equis, Symmetry, or any company that tries to corner you such that you do not have the freedom to leave and make a living somewhere else.  What I do not appreciate is the fact they lied to me and admitted to it over the phone.
