erentalapplications.com is lifting real ads of properties to rent, deleting the real contact person's name, and adding their own, as a way to rent the home. They only way to reply to their ad is via email. When you reply to their ad, they will not show you the property, because they cant, because they don't own, or represent the owner in any way. When you email them requesting to look at the property they will email you back with this response:

"Hello Robert

Please go to www.eRentalApplications.com to fill out a basic rental application to check tenant history, references, and verify employment. Your social security is NOT REQUIRED and YOUR CREDIT WILL NOT BE PULLED at this time. After the application will be reviewed you will be contacted to set up time to see the property. The process is simple. Just use the following steps and within minutes your application will be forwarded for review.

Go to www.eRentalApplications.com and follow these steps:

On the homepage click on the APPLY TODAY button
Find the property address (for which you will be applying)
Fill out the application
Pending approval you will be contacted regarding your application as soon as possible."

Even though they say SS# is not required, it is a question on their application. In addition, they charge applicants $14.95.

When prompted again to actually SEE the home, here is their reply:

"Hello again,

That's understandable. The reason why I use eRentalApplication.com is to save time and to meet all potential tenants who are interested in the property through that site. I can see who qualifies then I will contact them and meet only with qualified parties and not waste anyone's time. SSN# IS NOT REQUIRED!! I've had multiple applications submitted regarding this property already. It's a basic rental application to check some references and tenant history. I won't run your credit until you decide for sure that you want rent this property.

Thank you for your time and interest"

So, I too, have filed reports with the FBI at www.ic3.gov along with a couple of other agencies. This site is clearly a rip off.

As of 4/19/09 eRentalApplications.com is "acting" like they are doing business in the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, IA, ID, NV, OR, TX, WA. This is up by several states compaired to last week.
