Since I was uncomfortable doing business with someone who has an undisclosed identity, I did some intensive detective work to figure out Big As background of ETF Trend Trading.  After all, if your track record is impeccable, why not make it public?  Its a major part of your branding!  Secrecy makes no sense unless you have something to hide.  From my research, the identity of Big A of ETF Trend Trading is clearly Aden Rusfeldt.  Rusfeldt was found guilty of fraud by the CFTC in 2007 (CFTC Release 5475-08 released on March 27, 2008).   From the release, Rusfeldt and Rusfeldt Investments LLP were ordered to pay $3M in penalties.  From the CFTC, performance representations were false and misleading, as Rusfeldt traded in at least 272 customer accounts and none earned the type of returns described on his website.  Rather, the vast majority of Rusfeldts trading resulted in losses and losses in Rusfeldt-managed accounts totaled at least $1,906,502.30 from July 2005 through June 2006.  So in short, any claims Big A makes about his past performance and trading track record are undoubtedly false and misleading.  Also take a look at the review of his former business (((Redacted))) at (((Redacted))).  Clearly not stellar.  The trading strategy he used for Forex is apparently a mirror of what Peter Bain does, although not done as well.  I would be very wary if you choose to deal with this guy.

former Big student..my experience

Dear friends,

I have been member of the ETF trendtrading program and then, after, of the Etfoptiontrading.
First of all, I would like to let you know that the advertised 52 weeks webinars where only for the us costumers. Living in Europe I only got about 4-5 webinars that BigA would run every second month on Saturdays. Other than this I had to watch some of the recordings. He claimed that a large part of the very high cost of the program was his time spend on webinars. I can understand that his time cost something, but as long as I could not get the webinar I consider I should have been charged much less. So I paid for 52 weeks of live webinars and I only got about 4-5.

The email service was there but sometimes I would not get the answers to the technical questions. Overall, the email service was acceptable. Tucker, his assistant would reply most of the questions.

The material that big A is teaching, is to be found actually in various books and websites over the internet. There is nothing new that he teaches.

Then latter I got in the options course as well. Here the same problem with the webinars, this time I only got the recorded ones. Most of the strategies are already available online on varios specialized websites.
Overall I consider that, without the webinars, the value of the course for each one of them should be max 200 usd instead of 2000 usd. Including the webinars I do not consider the value to be higher than 500 usd.
So for all of you interested... think about it.

Not a rebuttal, just my opinion

I too have to come to the defense of Big A.  I purchased the course in July of this year (2010), just at the time that the system was being re-designed and automated.  I feel that the system is worth the money, but you do have to apply yourself.  The system is not simple. You can become comfortable using it in a month or less.  But you do need to put in the time and effort.  It is a complete system, well designed, well programmed, and well taught.  Just be prepared to work with it.  If you put in the time you will be rewarded.

Since I started trading live money, I am up over 15% in four months.  This is not a get rich quick system.  Like Big A (or Aden or whoever he is) says slow and steady profits.  I can see why and how this system can make money in up and down markets.  I have closed out all my other trading accounts and have now consolidated everything to use this system.  I feel that strongly about it.

I cant say enough about the support team that you get with the program.  They answer every email in a timely manner.   They explain everything through until you fully understand it.  To say that I am impressed with the system and the company would be an understatement.  It may not be a showy web page, and sometimes the webinars dont run smoothly.  But to me that is what makes it great.  Through all the idiosyncrasies is a great system with great teachers.

customer opinion

AUTHOR: carlo - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Hi there,

I purchased Big A's program in September '09 and I am glad to share my opinion.
I premise I was new in trading and before buying it, I used to be one of those who "buy, hold and hopes...".

- since I lost a lot of money from October 2008, I decided that the cost of this product might be worth it if it was true only 50% of what I read in their website.

- Sept-09 / Jan,Feb '10 I was very frustrated in understanding the course. Lots of mistakes, typos and vague teaching. I was quite angry more than frustrated but i kept going.

- Jan '10 - Feb '10, thanks to live webinars I finally learned the system.

- March '10 Austin Webinar with Tucker. A good man, a good teacher. He cleared up many students' doubts. Yet if the program had been clear and well done since the beginning, Austin workshop wouldn't have been necessary. Though, Austin was good for exchanging email with other members, since big A doesn't let members to communicate between themselves -not cool.

- Performance was positive around 3-5% until end of April.
then sideways market between May and August, performance negative -10%
Sept 10 up to now, also with new trading rules, performance are positive and I almost regained previous losses. I wish the system was like it is now at the time I joined Etftrendtrading.

- During first 6 months, I also have to admit that I did not follow 100% the system's rule, therefore my losses cannot be attributed 100% to the system.
Though, for the same reason, I definitely avoided many losing trades the system would have kept. The thing is that after you learn the system, you're tempted to adapt it and change it with some tweaks. This attitude comes from new psychologic trading attitudes. I realized that most of the times, once into a trade, it's better to follow the system rules and avoid any personalization. The "exit" is the most compelling step: greed keeps you in until you end up making less.

- Bottom line: Etftrendtrading, that now is called etflogin.com was definitely worth it because it taught me:
1- being more organized and taking ownership of my trading.
2- reading charts and set entry, stop and exit.
3- Usage of a trading platform
4- I learned how to choose a good etf and stock versus another.

- I also bought Julio's option program: total loss of $1,200. I never used it. This was a rip-off. No problem in saying it. More than 1 reason, but mostly wrong timing in delivering the service.

- I didn't buy Kirt's option class for $5,000 because it's way too expensive and I have the feeling it's a rip-off. Also, I didn't like the guy's presentation: such an idiot counting new applying members during his webinar and showing off pictures of him in a private Jet.

- I didn't buy the automatic system. After such a long time learning the system, I'd rather do it myself.

- I'd be interested in Penny market new product by the CEO, Patrick DEaton, but i have no time now.

- another good thing was a couple of books that big A suggested and that I found enlightening. Interesting also the Internet marketing strategy behind Etftrendtrading. I might use them to sell my ideas...

Regards,

small p

I agree with Gulee

AUTHOR: Sam F - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 30, 2010

I agree with Gulee, if you put the work in you will learn the system. I joined May of 2010 and it took me about one month to learn to system. I'm not sure if Big A is Aden or not, but at this point I don't care because I'm doing good.

I was breaking even the first two months, then he made a couple of system changes and came out with the "99% automated software" and since then I've been doing great and it's been a whole lot easier with the new software. His staff answers all my emails and his webinars are good.

If you don't want to go through a learning curve I don't think you should join.

not a rebuttal, but a different opinion

AUTHOR: Gulee - (U.S.A.)

I completely understand David's frustration and feeling of financial loss. But I want to present my side of the story totally for the benefit of those who are deciding if to purchase the course.

I purchased the course on 7/13/2010 and traded the system in August with total 8 paper money trades - 5 losses, 2 small gains, and 1 large gains, overall breakeven.

I have five years trading experience and I had no difficulty mastering the materials and two trading systems in this course, in two weeks I started paper trading the system. Basically it's a trend following system which won't work effectively in a sideway market such as this August. But its simplicity and elegence convinced me that it will work very effectively in a trending market. The course also teaches a reversal system in a sideway or trending market. What I find very beneficial is the system is almost 99% quantified and defined without any room of personal discretion, much like a computerized trading system. Entry, exit/target, position sizing, etc. are all clearly specified to remove personal opinions and emotions. I actually adopted some of it in my own swing trading system in August with real money total return over 10%.

But my whole point is that new traders should seriously consider their committment and long learning curve before buying the system, as David said this course was not formally structured like textbook. It's fairly new and in constant update, and it will be a struggle for new traders to digest and apply the concepts. The course materials and videos will sometime make you feel frustraded, but I see it more as a psychological issue because if one takes time the materials are not that hard to digest. In fact the psychological aspect of trading can be even more challenging to new traders that no book can teach you, so it can get confused if it's the trader or the system that led to the losses.

Experienced traders, particularly those with engineering and quantitative analysis background, will immediately appreciate the simplicity and benefits of the system, and you will have no problem master it. Depending on your needs this course may benefit you a lot to nothing, but with a 90-day money back guarantee I don't know what you got to lose.

Anyway just my two cents to help you make a wiser purchasing decision. Good luck!

Frustrating Experience With ETF Trend Trading

AUTHOR: Jerubaal - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, July 29, 2010

Hi John,   Yes I did subscribe to ETF Trend Trading with Big A largely because my neighbor and friend did and he was pretty excited about it at first.   I am not sure where to begin.

I like to teach because I enjoy taking hard concepts and making them in to something easy and enjoyable to understand.   This course was anything but  that.   It was poorly written and filled with mistakes.   Plus what really frustrated me was the lack of clear, systematic teaching (i.e. building a foundation and explaining steps in an orderly fashion)  Big A seemed to get wrapped up with an explanation and when it got confusing, he kept saying, "But don't worry, we will have plenty of examples".   I started really looking at the money back guarantee but that was when I saw it to be a "Conditional Guarantee".  This was not really spelled out at first but I realized you had to show how that you were trying to use the program or the system to demonstrate your worthiness to receive the refund. My problem was it was really hard to even understand the system much less put it to work.

The other thing that really angered me was the fraud.  Things were promised and not delivered on.  Big A even says in one of his CDs that he enjoys hearing and responding to people.  Well he doesn't respond to anything.  There is no phone line or email where you can ask him a question on anything.  You are left with trying to make one of his weekly webinars to ask a question and hopefully he will spot you and respond.   Otherwise , you are left with sending in an email and a low level assistant will try to answer your question.  Since he doesn't really know the system either, he tells you what videos to watch which are posted in the members area.   So now you have to wade through the videos to finally find the answer to your question which may or may not be buried somewhere in the video..    The program was not as advertised and you should be thankful you were wise not to join up with this guy.  I really regret the money I spent on this and knowing I will not get it back..

David

Extended Experience..Good , Bad or ??

AUTHOR: John McLean - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, July 11, 2010

David/ Jerubaal   Since you had already purchased the course I was wondering what your experience with it to date has been?  I saw one commment where they admitted up front he was Arden but that his previous issues were not fraud but truely bad judgement trading futures for others. Arguabley, while not very comforting,  it is plausible.  I have know people who have blow up thier accounts and this is a big issue when your  trading someone elses money for them.  His presentations on ETF trading (not futures) are compelling and I was just wondered what your extended experience was?

Thanks, John

Important update!!!

AUTHOR: trista - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, June 25, 2010

I just got off the phone with one of Big A's employees.  I was very direct and asked if, in fact, Big A was Aden Rusfeldt.  I was surprised at how honest his employee was.  He said that, yes, Big A is Aden Rusfeldt.  I then asked about the fraud.  He again was honest and said that Big A had made a mistake.  He said he isn't involved in making trades for other people anymore, just in helping others learn how to make trades.

POSTED: Thursday, June 24, 2010

A good friend asked me to look over the EFT Trend Trading site.  He was excited and was strongly encouraging me to consider investing in the mentoring course.  He said that they weren't taking any new students at this time, as they wanted to spend quality time with their current students.  Now, my background is in sales and marketing, specifically advertising.  I "smelled" marketing gimmick.  I did as my friend requested and pulled up the site.  Upon viewing the video, which was just an audio of the home page, I noticed something else that didn't ring right.  For someone who "claims" to be so successful, the video was not at all professional.  I continued to look at the site.  The other thing I noticed that didn't seem right for such a "successful" company were the people who work for EFT that are shown in the photographs AND their office didn't read successful at all.  That made me want to investigate the company.  I found several sites stating that "Big A" is, in fact, Aden Rusfeldt.  I looked at the following links:

http://www.cftc.gov/ucm/groups/public/@lrenforcementactions/documents/legalpleading/enfsignedsro031307.pdf

http://www.cftc.gov/PressRoom/PressReleases/pr5475-08.html

Definitely thankful I wasn't snookered.

Why is Big A Aden Rusfeldt?

AUTHOR: Jerubaal - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, April 11, 2010

Dear Robert,

You stated that from your research "the identity of 'Big A' of ETF Trend Trading is clearly Aden Rusfeldt."

I wanted to make sure that your conclusion is solid because I just purchased the ETF Trend Trading Program.  I am very concerned that Big A and Aden Rusfeldt are one and the same person.  Can you elaborate on your research methods and why you are dead certain that they are the same man?

I am having trouble identifying Big A and found your conclusion very compelling.  Any help or illumination you can shed on this will be greatly appreciated!  I want to be informed in this but I don't want to smear an innocent man...

Thanks

David
