After starting my training program on a Monday our class began with 11 people and by mid week more than half were gone because of the differences in what was said at the time of your hire and what was said to us in the class or the class trainer did not feel you were going to make it as a sales person for Evans Glass and were terminated. The teacher mentioned that the company was having paying problems that was due to "Growing Pains" but constantly mentioned all the people he was training were not staying with the company and the retention problem was horrible here at this company. That is what has been said all along by any number of staff or reps.

By the end of the class there were 3 of us left. 3 out of 11 and now there is only 2 left in our class after the first month. I have personally seen almost 100 people from Evans Glass leave there employment for NON-PAY issues. The $250 a week they promised came but from that point all the rest started going down hill. They are to pay you half up front after your order is accepted and the other half after the windows you sold according to the hiring agreement. After 3 months at the company there is no 1st half up front other than what they give you to pacify you by saying the pipeline to your money is just beginning and up to now I see no end in site for my money earned to be given to me in a reasonable and timely way or manner.

Now keep in mind Evans Glass has you spend your own $$$'s going out and running the appointments they provide you and spending $3.00 per gallon $150.00 to $200.00 a week in fuel to do Evans Glasses bidding by running the leads they are giving you but not getting reimbursed for it with any real money you earned from your commissions. They send you 20 to 90 miles away to go on these leads.

They have these Friday Ra Ra meeting to fire all the un-aware representatives and NEW REPS up to continue to go out and book $$$'s for Evans Glass the rep will more than likely never see in a form of compensation or commission checks. They send the new guys/gals out with trainers for little to no commissions and you go with advanced field trainers they say are required training but you only get 2% and its not the 30% they promise the first 30 days and then you are advanced to 50% of the overage after the end of the trial 30 days with a 5% commission on a portion of the products sold to the customer.

You are mislead into believing that half your money will be coming soon or a draw but that really never comes and you find yourself begging almost for the money you earned to continue to do business for them without pulling your own $$$'s out of your own pocket to book business for them without Evans Glass paying you your commission amount due to you.

I have been told that in the State of Oregon that upon termination your money any company owes you needs to be paid to you in a timely manner and in at least 7 days but that is not what I am currently hearing from the ones that have left. Its always I will find out for you from the management and I will get back to you shortly which never is with any real definitive answers. They constantly say it will be there in your check next Friday on payday but that day has not come for me yet or do I think its going to any time soon.

I am currently filing a complaint with the Oregon Department of Wage and Labor, Consumer Report, Better Business Bureau and retaining an attorney to recover my money from EVANS GLASS. I recently have been seeking new employment hoping that ALL COMPANIES in this industry are not like EVANS GLASS.

Evans Glass said to all employees in the meeting on Friday do not pay any attention to all the RECENT REPORTS being filed against Evans Glass by disgruntled employees. That the more times we look at these reports will incur hits on the counter of the page and make this more credible than it really is!!! That they were going to do something about it very soon and that employee is in the wrong and she/he will be dealt with accordingly by Evans Glasses legal department.

I for one am leaving now before I get any deeper into this company, Evans Glass is a RIPOFF and should be used as an example to other companies that treat any employee like this and if you treat your employees this way you will be shut down, fined or both.

#1 UPDATE Employee

I feel sorry for the employees of evans glass

AUTHOR: Happy Employee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 12, 2007

I feel sorry for all the employees of Evans Glass trying to earn a living and support their families. There are over 300+ employees with Evans Glass. Some of them have been there for years.
Many sales reps have been for years as well. If they were not getting paid there commissions due to them do you think they would still be working here. It is so easy for someone to put the blame on someone else for not succeeding at a company. Its sad really. Its to bad one or two bad apples are trying to ruin it for 300+ employees that depend on Evans Glass to support their families.
I read these letters posted from ex-employees and it saddens me. Evans Glass helps hundreds of customers solve there energy needs with window replacements every month. Yet you rarely see a complaint from a customer about paying to much or the windows were installed poorly. These are the real complaints you should be looking for. You will hardly ever see them because Evans glass does good work at a fair price. Evans glass takes care of there customers and there employees. For every negative comment made About Evans Glass on this website I can probably get 80 positive responses from current employees of the company. So for all the ex-employees who did not make a career at Evans Glass. I truly am sorry It did not work out for you. I wish you the best of luck at the next company you work for.
Happy employee
