Excel Resources, Inc. Shopping Sweepstakes Lottery Ripoff Toronto Ontario Canada

My 87 year old mother received a letter stating that she was one of the declared winners of the International Shopping Sweepstakes Lottery. Her entitled sum was $145,000.00 US dollars.

Enclosed in the letter was a check in the amount of $3,715.00 drawn on Bank of America in Seattle, WA. Supposedly this amount is deducted from the "winnings" to help expedite the processing of your winning taxes.

They then ask that before you cash this check you pay the tax amount of $2,935 to be paid via Moneygram Wiring Facility and give you a number to call for further instructions.

What a terrible scam this is....and preying upon the elderly who are often in need of extra cash and do not have the knowledge or ability to check out the authenticity of these predators. It's shameful!!!
