Like many others I have been the victim of the poor and blatantly bad policies of this company. I highly recommend any coders who are looking to make more than $3.00 an hour stay far away. They have high commissions, the time you spend bidding quickly eats away at your hourly rate, and when you do win a bid you're very likely to get shafted by the (for lack of a better term) stupid employees, the worst of who is the owner Ian Ippolito.

I personally was a coder rated at 10. Out of nearly 100 jobs I never had a single unsatisfied customer, not even a single arbitration. Do you think they cared about the money they were making off of me on their unreasonably high commission? Did they take into account what an impeccable record I had when they suspended my account? NO

Why? Because of the reason mentioned earlier. The owner is stupid!

This moron has created a policy that is places an undue burden on coders that are already underpaid and have to submit 100's of bids to win one job. This moron expects you to setup a completely new website to showcase your work if you already have a website that happens to have a page where people can contact you. Even when the contact form is not on the page that you linked to in order to show a prospective buyer your past work.

Anyone that has a website where people cannot contact you, is not a very good web designer to begin with. Great quality of people Ippodumbo is trying to attract for the buyers.

Poor baby Ippodumbo is trying to protect that high commission. This idiot doesn't seem to believe in his product too much, if he doesn't see any value for buyers using his site even though they might be able to contact a web designer through their own site.

Anyone considering using Rentacoder should simply use one of the 100's of others of job posting sites out there. Guru.com charges lower commission and so it's better for buyers and coders.
