On 7/29/08 I got new lenses for my glasses at Eyemart Express in Muskogee Oklahoma. After picking up my glasses, I took a walk around the mall where the store is located and noticed that there were serious issues with the new lenses. I immediately returned to the store and told them that something was odd about the lenses. They adjusted the nose pieces and messed with the temples. I put them back on and still had trouble, but was told that it may take a week or two to adjust to the new lenses. So I left, taking their advice.

A couple weeks (and several headaches) later I returned to the store to tell them that I was still having issues with the new lenses. After a couple of their employees looked at my glasses, it was determined by the store manager Lola that I was probably having problems with the polycarbonate material in the lenes. So another set was made for me out of plastic. I put them on and had less trouble with them at first.

I returned about a week later or so later, still having the same problems. More adjustments were made to the temples and nosepieces and it was even suggested to me that "I may hold my head too high". Yes folks, they actually said that. So continue on wearing the glasses still only being able to see only out of the top sliver of the lenses. The headaches continued. I even went to my MD twice about the headaches, not even thinking about it being due to the glasses.

So last week I had enough. I went to my Opthamologist and has his specialist check out the glasses and they found that 1-The prescription was incorrect 2-The left lense was ground incorrectly 3-My type of prescription should have never been put in the style of frames that I haveto begin with.

The next day I took my glasses back to the store thinking that at this point it wouldn't be unreasonable to request a refund. I was told by Lola (the store manager) that she couldn't give me a refund at that time because she had already filed a claim with my insurance and I would have to wait to see how much the insurance company would reimburse me. The following morning I contacted my insurance company and was told that they never recieved a claim on me from Eyemart Express even though it had been about six weeks since the purchase was made. After I got off work that same day, I went back to Eyemart Express and informed Lola that my insurance had received no such claim. She didn't say let me check it out or even go look to see when she may have filed the claim. This led me to believe that no claim was ever filed. I showed Lola the note from the tech at my Opthamoligists office stating their findings. Lola pulled my file and admitted that theire prescription was incorrect, but not by much. I informed her that it was off enough to cause me to have headaches for several weeks. She asked if she could "make it right", and I said "yes, by refunding me $292.00". Lola then said that she would have to call her manager. She spent several minutes on the phone and then came out and said "I'm getting a no go on your refund" and she asked to see my galsses and went back into the shop with them. She returned a few minutes later and told me that "they checked out" and that we had no refund coming.

So now I'm left with a $300.00 pair of glasses. We are appealing to the corporate offices in Texas and will take them to small claims court if necessary. Luckiy, I'm able to afford go elsewhere and purchase new glasses immediately as oppose to having to wait for all of this to play out.

Suffice it to say, if you can aviod doing business with Eyemart Express in Muskogee, Oklahoma...DO IT!!

Eyemart Express Regional manager makes it right

AUTHOR: Phil - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 08, 2008

After sending a letter to the Eyemart Express corporate offices, I recieved a quick response from the regional manager for Oklahoma via phone. John was very cooperative and helpful and agreed to refund my money for the purchase without hesitation. My beef is with the Muskogee location only. My message to the Muskogee store manager Lola is that you should learn how to treat your customers with respect and not resort to lies and stalling tactics when a refund is requested.

The Opthamologist can tell you what licensing agency to file your complaint with.

All eyeglass vendors are licensed by the people who set the requirement that you must have an Rx that was written within the last year. The lenses must match the Rx.
