I rented a car @ EZ on the 2nd of December for one day. I said I wanted to extended the rental until the 9th of the same month. They told me ok. It wasn't until I received a phone call on that Thursday I found out my card wasn't working at the time. I said, ok let me see what's going on with the bank. And I also asked how much they were trying to charge my card for. They said $171.00. I look at my account the Thursday after I returned the car and see they placed two charges on the account one for $168 and the other for $50. So, I called to see what was going on and they now tell me the total amount of the rental was over $300 and I'm not getting my refundable deposit back. This makes me very unhappy and they caused my account to unexpectedly go in the red. I want what is owed to me from them. Simply the refundable deposit and the deference of the charges. Otherwise I may have to take it to a higher authority.

The report said $171 for the extention the initial cost for the one day rental was $47 w. a $100 deposit that was refundable upon return of the vehicle. They charged me the $147 then the $168 & $50 which came out to $365.. when the initial price was suppose to be $218 without the refundable deposit. Does this answer your questions or would you like to add some more repute?

You say the total rental was over $300. So what was the intial cost of the rental and what type of car was this? What was the price they quoted you when you said you wanted to extend the rental? You did ask didn't you?
Because whether or not they tried to charge $171 or $168 + $50, both of those sound like they are on the low side for what would be either a 7 or 8 day rental(depending on the time of day you rented and returned the car). The reason I mention this is because you complain about how this put you into Overdraft. But if these put you into Overdraft how were you going to pay for the rental in the first place?
