Factory Direct Int. Inc. Items not available, but no refund , Internet

When I needed a new vacuum cleaner last year I did an on-line search to find a good price on the make and model I had selected. I found a good price @ Factory Direct Superstore on the internet. I ordered my new vacuum and paid with a debit card on-line.

After waiting four weeks for delivery, I called their customer service number and spoke with Harry, who identified himself as a supervisor with Factory Direct. I explained the situation to Harry and he requested that I give him an additional week to either fill my order or I could choose to request a refund or accept a different vacuum.

So after waiting another 7 days,I called Harry again. Harry said they didn't have the make and model I'd requested and asked if I'd be willing to consider another model. (Their website delivery schedule disclaimer advised customers that delivery could take as long as 20-30 business days to recieve.) Being in the immediate need for a vacuum after this time, I requested a refund from Harry and he informed me that he would refund my money. I was further advised that a refund could take several days to be posted to my bank account.

Now it's been five weeks since I requested a refund. I posted an inquiry on the customer service website and was electronically advised that a response could be expected within 24-48 hours. That was five business days ago, with no response. Telephone inquiries to Harry's voicemail have not be returned. The Company voicemail message today is that the "office is not open." So at this point, they have my money, I've gotten a vacuum elsewhere, ( who wants to wait five weeks when you need it now), and I am out $339.

I consider this transaction to be horrible customer service at best and a complete rip-off at worst. Don't shop at Factory Direct ! The prices make seem attractive, but the service is horrible, if they deliver at all.
