Family Readers Club told me they were with my credit card company and were rewarding me with a $200.00 gift card Norfolk New York

I received a phone call informing me that since I was such a good Visa Card holder, I was receiving a $200.00 shopping spree. Then she informed me that in order to receive my shopping spree, I was to purchase x amount of magazines for 2 years at 49.95. I figured 50 bucks for a $200.00 shopping spree and magazines, why not?

After I got off of the phone with them I called Visa. They informed me that they were not affiliated with Family Readers Club and they had already debited my account. I disputed the charge and immediatly called Family Readers Club back.

They told me that they couldn't cancell my subscription or refund the 49.95 to my credit card. I told them that as a consumer I had three days to cancel my obligations and that they signed me up under false pretenses. The woman said fine I will cancel it and hung up on me. I then called Visa back and canceled my card.

A few days later, I received a statement saying they were going to debit my account 49.95 per month, not just one time, and if money was not there, I would receive a bill and a $25 charge. I have been trying to cancel the magazines for 2 months now. I won the credit card dispute and had the charge dropped from my Visa, but I am still receiving bills and magazines. I have never received my shopping spree either.

I have been talking to a very nice woman named aka: Renee, who works for Family Readers Club and told me she would take care of everything. After talking with her several times, she assured me that my subscription was terminated and to disregard the bills. I received another magazine today. I called Readers Club today and was informed that Renee is no longer employed there.
