I am a former employee of Fathers Choice who was let go earlier this year because I did not post the high sales numbers that Ruebel Trevino and Brian Azouz wanted to see. I always told the parents over the phone that they really had 3 options.

1) Pay an attorney to file the paperwork and handle the case

2) Fill out the paperwork yourself

3) Pay Fathers Choice to handle your paperwork, but you are still responsible for filing in your county courthouse.

Fathers Choice is nothing more that a legal document service, they can do nothing more than help you fill out your court forms. They are not licensed to practice law, they are not a law firm.

You can save yourself alot of time, heartache and money by taking some classes and filing your own court documents.

KEY Investigation: Father's Choice
Goleta, CA

Parents all over the country say a Goleta business took their hard earned money when they were desperate for help.

Hundreds of people have filed complaints and some even called our KEY News Tipline trying to get their money back.

The company operates under several names one of them is 'Father's Choice'. It claims to help parents, mostly fathers win their child custody cases.

But we discovered the business and its owner have a checkered past.

The pressure is on Brian Azouz & Fathers Choice. Multiple state & federal agencies are investigating to find out what happened at Fathers Choice.

Unfortunately, it was too late. Brian Azouz closed the business. Here is the report.


KEY Investigation: Father's Choice Update
Santa Barbara, CA

A follow up to last week's KEY News Investigation into a Goleta business called Father's Choice and it's owner Brian Azouz.

The company claims it offers low-cost legal help to parents in their child custody matters. But, hundreds of people all over the country say the company took their money and did nothing to help them.

KEY News also discovered the owner, Brian Azouz, has a long criminal record. He spent three and a half years in a federal prison for telemarketing fraud.

Now, Father's Choice employees are telling us that Azouz shutdown the company Tuesday night without notice. They also say, Azouz promised to give them their final paycheck on Friday the 5th.

Our camera's were there late Friday afternoon as employees showed up only to find a sign on the door that told them they were not allowed in the building.

The note left on the door also said employees will receive their paychecks in the mail as soon as funds become available. We've been unable to reach company officials for a comment.
