I was not aware until today when I went to my old apartment to find the legal documents from fathers choice. Long story short. My husband and i contacted fathers choice in Oct of 2008. My husband had been laid off for a long time and could not afford a legal representation for a modification of child support. My husbands night mare started in dec 07. he got laid off from work. Like any decent father he contacted his exwife to let her know about the layoff. He is paying $ 700 in child support per month for his daughter of 11. Months went by and he was taking in $ 1200 per month. So you can understand the stress he was going through. We got married in May 08. Cheap wedding but nice. My parents paid for.

In the meantime my husband was going through the hard time with exwife he had not been able to pay child support to his daughter. Long story short we were looking for options to modify his child support. Everywere we whent in Georgia attorneys wanted enormeous amounts for representing him. Finaly the bad day came. We got notification that he was charged with child abandoment in Georgia and threat to send him to jail.

We found Fathers Choice. Wow here is an organisation that can help. We had to pay them $ 98 on our credit card and payment went through and after that there was more money we paid another $ 600 in 2 installments to Fathers Choice. In the meantime there was the charges to avoid child abandoment. His exwife had a attorney and we went to court. $ 2000 later and loss in court we had to borrow money from my husbands parents to have him avoid jail.

Right in the same time my husband got a job but the exwife and the court did not care. Had to borrow again from his father $ 7000 to pay his exwife in back child support. I thought atleast we have Fathers Choice to modify this payments. Now I have sadly found out that they are a scam. and also now going under the name of Fillmore fathers. We got some papers in the mail for him from Fathers Choice but they will not hold up in court. I know that they came from Georgias free legal directory and we are brome.

The sadest thing though is that the way the legal system work in USA is working against normal hard working parents mothers and fathers when it comes to child support. There is a lack of care when it comes to helping true goood parents when they need it. So this is the scam, conartists dream come through. Poor fathers looking for help, poor fathers that was paing for childsupport but if they loose their job and live on unemployment they are at loss.

I want to warn anyone out there woman, man don't look for deals online. To many cons out there waiting for your hard earned mone. If you think my husband had money to buy a attorney and was avoiding child support you are wrong. I asa woman wife newley wed and have never had children can have children was helping my husband to take care of his daughter.

For 6 of the months my hard low income before the nightmare started wnt to pay for his daughters childsupport and I used my own money to help legally to represent my husband the legal way. I got scammed, my husband got scammed. here it is my story, my husbands story. Legal protection in USA is throwing hard working people to conartist and sadly all that money could have gone to the child.
