When one purchases a box and obtains a quote for delivery and the Fedex personnel use the printed box dimension for the quote, then that IS the shipment size BY CONTRACT. The purchase of the box and the quote are a contract, period. Variation from that quoted shipping is FRAUD.  Continued FRAUD in business practice can be a RICO ACT violation. Having read online some of Fedex business practices and billing practices, even about current and recent suits, it is apparent that shipping fraud is rampant with that company.

The difference between myself and major shippers is that once paid, Fedex can not go back and change the charges (initiated by a driver!!).  Some examples that have been documented are 6 pound shipents being reassessed at 110 lbs.(on a box that probably could not hold 110lbs of gold!).   Even though PROOF was given and Fedex installed scales in that shipper warehouse were used, Fedex would NOT adjust charges. In other words Fedex lets ANY employee CHANGE the CONTRACT on ANY WHIM.  Regardless of cause.

This violates federal and state laws, it is in interstate shipping and is ORGANIZED and a CRIME. One company alone showed losses of $250,000 in shipping in a short time due to such fraud. Documented by Fedex equipment and scales installed in thier warehouse!. Fedex refuses to adjust charges they change from those printed by thier own equipment.

Since you insist on personal attack against me, You need to pull you sorry a*s small mind out of your A&& and go find something productive to do with your life. Like, how about GO GET A JOB, or GO have a BEER.

You are NOT the shipper and frankly who gives a two shakes what you think, or think you know, or what your opinion is? Since you do NOT represent the company being complained about, just get LOST.

If you are employed by Fedex, PLEASE let me know that.  I will take YOUR statement as corporate resoponse and act accordingly.

The dimenisions printed on the bottom of a box are for inside dimension reference only. How would people whom bought a box with 20X20X12 dimension like it when they attempt to place their 20x20X12 gift-wrapped package into the box....and it didn't fit?! If they were like this complainer, they would scream, "Fraud!"..."Shoddy quality!"..."You know nothing about what you are saying!!!". The simple fact is that this complainer merely chose to make a fool of himself.

All that garbage about this 'engineer' "showing" and "explaining", yet in his ignorant dictatorship he does not know how to use a simple tape-measure. When measuring that box, normal individuals easily determine that the box is larger on the outside than it is on the inside, but this complainer apparently would get a headache grasping onto that concept. All carriers on the planet round up, not down.

This complainer also refers to worldwide standards....all of which he knows nothing about.  A 20X20X12 box with UPS also has a similar oversize fee when entering the proper 21X21X13 dimensions (plus any added bulge). The Post Office package volume increases a bit more before oversize kicks in, which then suddenly adds a flat 50 bucks to the package! (And what will happen if Congress doesn't allow the USPS rate increase, voiding of all current and future pensions, and shortened work week? You don't need an 'engineer' degree to know that either the postal rates will soar or USPS will disolve altogether.)

The 'engineer' also has a difficult time understanding what "stretch" means. If he had any bulge to the surface of his box after packaging, which is common with larger surface area boxes, the dimenisions are measured to the outer bulge rather than the lesser edge...surely another real mind-bender for this 'engineer'.

Evidentally this 'engineer' finds it more rewarding to jump to irrational conclusions with subsequent attack on others before he researches facts which are clearly available online in any carriers website as well as box vender websites.

I can't help wondering if this 'engineer' spent his college years with self destructive tasks such as "list[ing] this issue in EVERY online resource I could.", rather than studying his text books. Perhaps not, but he certainly admits having nothing better to do with his time now. If this complainer is truly an 'engineer' and we were to use his same logic, it would be beneficial for the public to know what company he is employeed at so as to avoid the junk products he helps it manufacture.
