I ordered a few packages from FedEx two weeks ago and I have received one of them, which was dropped down my porch steps by the driver right in front of me! It was fragile too--a computer. Luckily there's no damage to be noticed as of yet but it's only been half a day. For the last week I've been calling and emailing FedEx to inquire as to the whereabouts (or to complain about the whereabouts!) of one package after another, multiple times for each. First, my first package wasn't delivered because the address was allegedly incorrect which I confirmed to be untrue when I called customer service.
I was told the package would be delivered ground (instead of the higher priced shipping I had paid for) and would arrive the next week. I told them that was unacceptable and I should not have to suffer because their driver was too lazy to look for my house, so finally, the man on the phone at the call center said he had spoken to the local facility and that it could be delivered the next day, Saturday. I also asked them to attach directions to all of my packages should the driver miss my house again. When I called the following day after not receiving my package, I was redirected to my local facility from which I learned that they do not operate on Saturday! I called and complained again. I was told again it would arrive the following Monday.
On Monday, it did arrive and as I stated before was also dropped down three steps by the driver on his way to hand it to me at the door (yes, I had been sitting there waiting in case he drove right by). After this, I went online to track my other two packages. One was still "in transit" and the other appeared to be sitting, for no apparent reason and still, at my local facility. I called again and asked why and I was told that the database had not been updated and the package would arrive the following day, Tuesday. Well, Tuesday came and went, no package, so I went online again to track the package and there it was still waiting patiently to be delivered at my local facility. I called again. I was put on hold for twenty minutes while the lady I spoke to allegedly called to find out what went wrong.
Eventually, she came back on the line and told me that the man who could tell me what's going on with my package left ten minutes ago! How convenient. So, I was told, yet again, to wait until the following day for him to call me. I definitely won't hold my breath on that one. What happened to the last package, you ask? I will happy to know--as stated by a customer service representative--that it was safely delivered to 5738 YM Rd. That would be great if I didn't live at 5188 YM Rd. I have yet to see where this one goes. I'd like to say this FedEx is an anomaly but these issues are coming from all around and they're not the first I've heard. Don't use FedEx! If you can help it, go (((competitors' names redacted)))! If you have to wait, wait! It's better than not getting your packages at all!
sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. Sorry, but you don't get to tell us who we use for shipping. We can decide that for ourselves based on our own experiences.
I have used Fed Ex many time with excellent results and will continue to use them in the future.

FedEx Misplaced Packages, dropped packages, misinformation

I ordered a few packages from FedEx two weeks ago and I have
received one of them, which was dropped down my porch steps by the

Don't use FedEx! Use a competitor, go for pick-up. If you have to wait, wait! It's better than not
