Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center Another Victim Sacramento, California

My other half received a notice from the County of Orange saying her Fictitious Business Name was due to expire.  She thought this was odd, because she had paid $125.00 to Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center (FBNRC) back in July.  When she brought all the paper work to me, I of course googled Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center and found numerous hits regarding deceptive solicitations.  I explained to my other half that it looks like she paid someone $125.00 when her actual renewal rate was only $23.00.

The most upsetting thing to her at this point, is the fact the although Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center has said her business name is on file, the County of Orange has no record of any such renewal.  We will be contacting the County Clerk's office tomorrow to determine our next course of action.  If her business name is indeed not on file, then the next call will be to Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center.

I can understand everyone being upset with this business.  While not be totally dishonest regarding their company, FBNRC is hardly upfront with their advertisement as a company that is not associated with your local county clerk's office.  I read one comment in Ripoff Report from a service manager from FBNRC who wrote that their employees and practices are extremely honest.  I suppose that is a matter of perspective. We will see how FBNRC treats our case and I will post a follow-up as soon as it becomes available.
