fidelity life association sold an AD&D insurance policy to a wheelchair bound stroke victim des plaines Illinois

my wife had a massive ishemic stroke in dec of 2013 and is now hemipalegic.

i had to retire to take care of her so we obviously needed to purchase some private health insurance.

i responded to several unsolicited ads while searching for a policy but had not yet chosen which one to purchase.

one day while i was still in work, fidelity life called my home and my wifes nurse gave her the phone.

a fidelity life agent then sold my wife an AD&D insurance policy with the promise to her that this would make her eligible to purchase health insurance!

i can only guess the insurance agent thought my wife would be at risk trying for that new record of jumping abandoned school buses in her wheelchair.  should she suffer any brain damage in a failed attempt at getting over that 3rd bus he made sure the cash would still flow by having her agree to automated withdrawal of premiums from our credit card. although his concern is indeed touching i contacted fidelity life by letter and phone to decline their services.

they have assured me that they would cease, however i still recieve bills from them, the latest being for $217.

until we can get some more suitable insurance, preferably health insurance, i have placed a police style locking boot on the front wheel of her wheelchair to discourage any reckless stunts she may attempt.
