Firestone Tire & Service Center RIP OFF!! ripoff, Firestone, Bridgestone, BAD Business, Des Moines Iowa

Just thought id share my experience and hopefully deter some people from buying firestone/bridgestone tires. I recently had a blowout on my 04 chevy hd 2500 and i wasnt quite ready to spend $800 on a new set of tires quite yet so i took it to a firestone store and had them put on a used stock tire to match my other 3. this was a new take off tire with less than 200 miles on it.

got about 15 miles from the tire store on the interstate and the new tire blows out, split the whole inside sidewall, so now im pissed! take it back into the store and just want to get my $ back...manager says he supposedly finds a rock inside the tire about the size of a dime with no sharp edges on it. says it punctured the tread, bounced around and caused the tire to blow out.

now this is a 10 ply tire with less than 200 miles on it...he has a "tire engineer" look at it and the engineer says it was a impact blowout, so supposedly i hit something on the interstate without me noticing it and caused the tire to blow...the funny thing is there is no puncture in the tire tread that this rock supposedly went through...

so anyway, call the firestone customer service, get transfered to a district manager he says the same old thing, i tell him ill never buy another bridgestone firestone tire and ill be sure to tell everyone i know about this, he says fine and hangs up! so moral of the story dont buy tires from these *&*&! I just put a new set of ---- on and they are great, plus they are made in U.S.A. not jap tires like BS/FS. anyway thanks and feel free to send BS/FS a email if you think this is BS!
