ON April 4th, 2012 my mother and I went to a local car dealership and purchased a 2006 Nissan Altima with a 24 month or 24000 mile warranty. The very next day, the Nissan dealer inspected a wiring short to my headlights, the repair was not covered by warranty with FASC. A few days later after a very hard rainstorm, I got in the car to turn the ignition and it wouldn't turn over.
Nissan dealership says, the transponder key has been deprogrammed and can be caused by, other transponder keys, my Exxon fast pass, magnets, and a few other things you would never expect to deactivatme something as technical as the key to your car. Needless to say, it's April17th, 2012
still unable to get car started still listening to lies from FASC from dealer we purchased from as well as the dealership owner. I am giving them till the last day of this month. Then calling finance company telling them where to find their car and good luck getting into it and driving it off.

As I understand your complaint, it is that this third party warranty company will not pay for reprogramming a key that you damaged.

Is it your claim that between the time you bought the car and the following day that this short suddenly occurred. Or, is it more likely that there was a short already in the harness (which no warranty company would cover)? Personally, I think third party warranties are a waste of money, but I can't fault them for not paying for something that was obviously a preexisting condition.

Does your warranty cover damage to keys? You didn't say, but I would be very surprised if any warranty covered such a thing.

Let me get this straight. In order to punish the warranty company (who already got paid) and/or the dealer (who already got paid), you are going to stiff the finance company? You're going to destroy your credit with a repo and likely get sued for the difference between the loan balance and the amount they get at auction. Yeah! That'll teach 'em ! That's a lot smarter than paying to get your key reprogrammed.
