First Century Bank Beware First Century Bank and COSTCO Mortgage Gainsville, Georgia

I applied for a refinance on my home mortgage with COSTCO Mortgage Services. I was then contacted by a "loan officer" from First Century Bank somewhere in Georgia. They offered me an attractive deal so I accepted. Our credit is in the 800's with plenty of net worth to cover the mortgage.

I filled out all the information, they requested my credit card information for the cost of appraisal. Instead of putting the charge in their real estate escrow account, they sent my credit card info to the appraisal company.

Every time I asked for an update they sent me a request for additional information. The lock in date passed and they continued to ask for more information. They insisted on the detail information from bank statements and investment accounts.

The last straw was when they said I had conditional approval and demanded more information that had no significant application to the transaction.

It finally dawned on me that I was being strung along and if there was ever a closing it would not be based on the original agreement. The sales mgr and operations mgr said the original agreement would still be good. I asked for it in writing, they agreed, but nothing ever came.

Needless to say, I cancelled the transaction due to lack of trust. Considering their lack of integrity, I am concerned what they could do with my detailed investment information. I should never have given them anything beyond the summary page.

By the way, twice I asked for Costco's help.I was assured they would help and contact me shortly. They even said they were escalating the problem. They did nothing. All they do is lend their name to scam artists and probably collect a few bucks for it. 

Don't trust any COSTCO outside services since they obviously take no responsibility.
