I recently attempted to make a purchase and discovered that my bank card was not working.  As this had happened in the past because my card had been compromised, I was unconcerned.  I went to work and called once there.  I waited on hold for over 10 minutes, and when a customer service representative finally availed herself, she was rude, unempathetic, and could basically care less.  I was thankful that the bank had put a stop to someone using my card, but completely surprised by the attitude of my financial institution.  The last time my bank card had been compromised, it took over two weeks to receive a new card.  I asked very kindly if it was at all possible to receive a card sooner than the standard two week wait.  I was told they could do a "three day delivery" but it would cost me $40.  Not only that, but they could not replenish the funds in my account, or take care of any overdraft fees associated with same, until the unauthorized transaction had been completed.  I have been a customer for 7+ years and have encountered terrible customer service in the past by this financial institution, but chaulked it up to someone having a bad day.  I have now come to the conclusion that anyone who works in this customer service department is allowed to be rude.  I am a "dime a dozen" customer to them.  I have reluctantly decided to pull my money from this institution, but anyone thinking of making a change, please consider this consumer's experience before doing so.  I know of so many other institutions that would never allow their customers to be treated this way.......they are handling our money and we deserve to be treated with some respect and kindness and most of all, support.
