I recieved a call at 7 pm at night which should have been my first tipoff. A guy named Brandon Douglas ID number 101033 claiming to be a Verification Officer of the US Government no arabic accent no indian accent standard US sounding guy. He said i was eligible for a $12,500 grant that i wouldn't have to payback becasue i was one of 6,000 people randomly chosen from Oklahoma within the $20,000 - $45,000 yearly sallary range.

He informed me of the amount of my 2003 and 2004 tax return claims to the government and the amount i recieved back; My billing address, cellular and home phone number. With him being able to supply this information i figured it was an actual government agency. He wanted to make sure i had al of his information and the information on the grant and was very patient as i write everything down and had me read it back to make sure it was correct.

He asked for my routing number and my bank account number which if he has this much info on me it had to be valid he even knew my credit unions name. I have had both of my returns electronically sent to this account which is why i figured he knew it. After giving it he said he had to get me to his supervisor to finish everything out for me and connected me to a guy named Paul who had a very indian accent.

This is where i started getting nervous.

He informed me in two days if i were to accept the grant there would be a $29.95 processing fee and getting the paperwork sent out which would be recieved at my home address in two days then after i recieved the grant there would be a $300.00 deduction to a charity which is the reason for the no payback grant. i then informed him that i was not interested i had no proof the grant was even coming and i requested him to delete my credit unions information he started telling me about how much i would be loosing etc etc i explained i didn't care money was tight and i am not authorizing him to take anything from my banking account. he said he would give me a call back tomorrow at eleven i told him that wasn't necessary i wan't interested and hung up.

I ten went and did a search at grants.gov and through google and all i found was scam information. i feel so stupid for it!! Don't fdall for this!!
