3rd party company hired Fleming & Stein to collect a small judgement made against our company. Our attorney did not feel that we were liable under the UCC, but thought it would cost more to fight the claim than it was worth. Our attorney said we should consider offering a payment to make it go away.
The gentleman, Michael Maddox represented himself as an attorney hired by the 3rd party company & wanted to negotiate a settlement. We agreed to provide a payment with the understanding that a court document would be provided to us showing that the claim was satisfied in the courts. Michael Maddox took our money, provided no documentation from the courts.
Further, we found out that a lien had been placed against our company. Michael Maddox will not return our calls. When I callled the company & reached a different invidividual, I was told that we owe more money & must contact the 3rd party company as the collection agency is now out of the picture. I have filed a claim for the unlicensed practice of law; filed a claim with the Federal Trade Commission & will continue to pursue the matter.

We don't have the time or desire to educate your company, but this website and the BBB is for consumers that have been ripped off by companies. Not for deadbeat, unorginazed companies trying weasel out of a debt. Vital Signs of Pittsburg did not hire Fleming and Stein, we were hired by our client to collect a debt from Vital Signs of Pittsburg. So if this spineless website was really interested in anything other than taking your firm's money - this complaint should have never been displayed anywhere.
So as you, Sandy, waste all of your effort and time running your firm in a Hilary Clinton like manner trying to pursue these frivolous claims, you are not addressing the real threat to Vital Signs of Pittsburg- the ugly public record of a Lien.
Our client has informed us that the actual balance is 3,013.25 due to court costs and collection fees.
To address the real issue, our client will sign and forward a Lien Release - not some vague non-existent court document that shows the claim has been resolved - when a check has been remitted to:

All the time and expense Vital Signs of Pittsburg has wasted on this situation reflects how poorly you, Sandy, conduct business and is why there are court judgments against your company. So keep wasting time trying to get back at Fleming and Stein, and Vital Signs of Pittsburg will be out of business soon. Given Fleming and Stein's extensive ties to the Signage Industry, we are sure we will be receiving several claims from our many sign clients involving Vital Signs of Pittsburg.
