About six months ago I seen an ad on TV for flex seal/ flex seal marine. I purchased a can of flex seal marine from walmart and tried it on a few spots on my boat. Seemed as if the first time I used the boat it worked. Then the next time I noticed I had a little bit of water on the bottom of the boat but I figured I didn't tighten my plug all the way down. The next time I used my boat I purchased a new plug and made sure it was in as tigh as possible and way more water then the first time. Figured maybe the flex seal I purchased the first time wouldn't Adhere to the old paint that I only scuffed before applying. So I decided I would entirely sand down every single piece of the boat inside and out and seeing how flex seal gaurenteed to bond to aluminum I would uses for the entire boat. I purchased a gallon d flex seal from lowes. Sanded down every crevice of my boat applied the flex seal to every single part of my boat crevices included . Waited a couple days and pressure washed one pice of the boat to ensure the quality before I put my boat back together and not a single spot came off. I was super impressed. Couple days go by and i begin putting the piece back onto the boat.. Floor, console, etc, every single spit I would brush up against would entirely peel off. Chunks.. Big layers. I have since then easily peeled back most areas and replaced it with a $30 gallon of rustoleum. Prepped the same way and doesn't even advertise to stick to aluminum. Sticks like it should(rustoleum) I feeler like I have been ripped off because if the paint was only going to last for a week they should have said that opposed to having milluons of people investing money and more importantly time into do it yourself projects With faulty products. If I were rich and famous I would just bought one that didn't need to be painted. If I had more money I would of paid someone to do it. Instead I was sold a dream by someone with no conscious to the little man. I hope u found my repost interesting enough to help the next man by the right product not one that has been misinterpreted by the media.
