In advertently, I placed an order with FlowerDeliveryExpress.com. Overwhelmed that my husband's uncle was deceased, because we could not attend the funeral, I was adamant about sending flowers to express our condolences. I went online and searched for a florist in the city and state where our uncle resided. The searched yielded this website. So, I placed the order for a floral arrangement/funeral with a sympathy card. The cost was $238.00. When I realized that the date of the funeral had been changed, I attempted to contact the website. Some female answered and asked for my email address. I "spoke" the email address. Then, she asked me to spell my email address. I got as far as the second "letter" which was an "i"...then she followed up with"...is this an "i" as in egg roll, to which I remarked, "egg roll starts with an "e." I knew I was in trouble, so I hung up.
When I realized I was dealing with an online service, I began to call all of the florist in the city and state where our uncle had resided. I found the local florist who had been given the order to fill by FlowerDeliveryExpress.com. What I found was FlowerDeliveryExpress.com had kept a 1/4 of the money they charge me and paid the remainder to the local florist. I had no problem with their fee. What gave me pause was... FlowerDeliveryExpress.com sent a photo of the arrangement I supposedly order, which was NOT WHAT I HAD VIEWED OR ORDERED ON THEIR WEBSITE...IT WAS A CHEAP VERSION OF WHAT HAD BEEN SHOWN ON THEIR WEBSITE. So, I was getting a sub-standard product at a higher cost. In the end, the local florist would have sent out what they were instructed to do, without knowing that FlowerDeliveryExpress.com had misrepresented my original order.
I ended up making an agreement with the local florist to design the floral arrangement the way I wanted it to look, and I paid the local florist an additional $65 to correct FlowerDeliveryExpress.com scam.
The site boast a 40% rebate to be sent to your email address on record when placing the order; however, they leave off the part of your email address after @. What you end up with as an email address reads like mrshoodwinked@blankblankblank@
In other words, you never receive the discount, and you get less than what you paid for. This qualifies as a RIP OFF!!
ADVICE: Make sure the florist you use has a local address with a local number. Call the local number and confirm that they are a local florist. Hang up and call back...ask for their physical address, if it matches what you find online, you might be okay.
