The Internet company known as Focus Nutra is offerings on line products called Intelligex and Amped Energy supplements. I do not have an issue with the actual product. I cannot state that it did nor did not do what it claimed. Will say that I did notice the effects of Amped Energy. (caffine based product) However, I do have issue with the marketing scam. The website misleads you to place an online order for both Intelligex and Amped supplements under the guise it is a 14 day trail sample for $4.95.
The catch is they send you a 30 day supply of both Intelligex and Amped and after 14 days from the date of the order, they bill your credit or debit card $97.17 for full amount of Intelligex and $ 86.35 for Amped Energy. In addition, when you sign up for the sample order, you are automatically signed up for their auto shipment program. This program will automatically send your next month shipment and bill you unless you notify them that you want to cancel.
The website was glitchy and did not explain the program well. I only wanted to try the Intelligex, but somehow also ordered Amped. I did not receive any email confirmation on the order. I placed my order on April 28th and it arrived on or about May 11th. On May 12th may debit account was billed $97.17 and on May 16th, it was billed again for $86.36. When my order arrived there was no information on the product nor instructions concerning the trial period or the auto shipment program.
I did email the company at support@focusnutra.com on May 26th and inquired about the charges. They informed me about the trial program and the auto shipment. I then immediately instructed them to cancel account. They were quick in responding to email and did acknowledge my cancelation, but would not process any return of product or refund because I was outside the 14 day trial period.
This type of marketing is a scam. I am out $188.48 for something I only wanted to try. Well I guess stupid should hurt.
