The Fortune 500 Group that ripped me off was based in Arizona, but because of the nature of the rip off, I can bet that they are all like this. They like to work with online businesses, mine was lowrateapprovals.com, or a site that helped people apply and obtain low rate loans.
Anyway, when they first call to offer you this opportunity, they make it sound like the only thing you'll pay to get started making money is the 'start-up fee,' which is usually around $200 for the lowest, and up to $1000 for ths highest. Now, what they won't tell you until you pay and sign up is that you'll have to pay thousands in advertising to even get a start, which most people can not afford, and there they've ripped you off hundreds of dollars.
The customer service reps. will tell you then that you don't need to pay to get started in advertising and making money, but their advertising dept. will keep telling you that you'll need to pay AT LEAST $1000 before you can even begin to make any significent progress online. They should be required to disclose this information to a potential client before they pay and start up. It's a typical rip off. And when you send for a refund, explaining how they mislead you, they will not return your money.
They even had the nerve and foolishness to call my home and release my personal information to the first person who picked up the phone, which really made me mad. Now, it was my mom, but they did not know that. I wish companies like these would be forced into change by the government. They take advantage of poor people who are only trying to make a better life for themselves.
I would advise anyone to stay away from this company. They are professionals at ripping you off within lawful boundaries. And what I mean by that is simply this, there are legal ways to rip people off in this country, despite the fact that they were mislead. If a rep. calls you from this company, describe this report to them and see what they say. Probably another lie.

Chris, the client was sold a web based business opportunity. The sale of the web based business opportunity is not contingent upon the purchase of advertising. The customer can choose to advertise their website on their own or contract our team to do it on their behalf.
We have returned Chris's total purchase price of $200.00 as of 02/18/08. It may take a billing cycle to show up on his credit card. We can provide proof of this via fax or e-mail. We feel we have resolved this issue to the best of our ability.
