in march of 2001 i bought a 1998 gmc sonoma. it had 15,000 miles and was only 8,000. it also still had quite a bit of the factory warranty left. as i was doing my financing paper work i was sold an extended warranty ( i was never told the warranty costs 2,000 dollars!) i drove the truck for about a week. then i noticed the headlights were not working just right then i noticed the air conditioning didnt work so i took it into the shop. the reason the air didnt work was it had no air conditioning just the knobs ????? the sticker on the side of the truck when i bought said it was equiped with a/c so i told them i didnt feel good about the deal i just changed my mind i didnt get what i paid for. of course that didnt work. now the factory warranty is gone on my truck the extended warranty no one will take and the nearest auto nation dealer is 500 miles away but no car dealer will take this warranty so my truck is once again tore down. the brakes are shot and not because i dont take care of my truck. i have put new brakes on my truck 2 times this past year and now the anti lock brake light is on and you cant hit the brakes without the abs hitting and throwing you off the road. but no one will fix them so what was my 2 grand spent for? any way if your in maryland move no ha ha. really though buy a car elsewhere like jbs or something but do not buy from fox they are sly and sneaky like there name implies.

Similar dealings with Fox Chevrolet

I was also not happy with the Autonation Warranty. I contacted the dealer, Fox Chevy of Timonium. The finance person I spoke with (Barry, I think) said they would not refund the price of the warranty. They would give me a prorated refund of some 17% which was unacceptable. Considering we were lied to about what was covered, I felt I was owed a full refund. Fidelity Warranty services, and other such companies are conartists.

In the future, I would refrain from buying any kind of extended warranty, "protection" plan, maintanance agreement, whatever they call it, for anything. Auto dealers, Sears, Best Buy, Circuit City, they all do it with whatever they sell. Most auto extended warranties are only valid at the dealer you buy from, or their network of dealers. I'd also suggest you refrain from buying American vehicles. The Japanese are so much better at it.
