Freedom Pop No service but still get charged Internet
*UPDATE Employee: Signed Up For Paid Data Plan
I signed up for Freedom Pop taking them at their word. It is not free. And it is a huge ripoff. In Apache Junction, AZ there isn't even service available but they think I should get charged $17.99 for not using enough minutes. Seriously, I am getting charged for service I haven't used when there isn't even any to use. This company should be investigated and fined, heavily fined. There should also be a class action lawsuit for an enterprising lawyer to undertake.

#1 UPDATE Employee
Signed Up For Paid Data Plan
AUTHOR: FreedomPop - ()
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, May 29, 2013
Linda,
The $17.99 charge you mentioned is for the 2GB Data Plan that you signed up for on March 9th. When you signed up, it was under our 2GB Trial so the first month was free - as a thank you for signing up and an opportunity to see if you'd like to fit in to our most popular data plan. As was explained at checkout, it was free the first month and would be $17.99 for subsequent months. Users who do not wish for this recurring transaction have the option to sign up with our free 500MB plan or, if they accept the 2GB Trial, contact FreedomPop to downgrade the data plan. You are not getting charged for not using data; you are getting charged for being on a paid data plan that you signed up for.
We attempted to return your phone calls to us on April 29th and May 1st, but were unable to get a hold of you and left a message on May 1st. We have noticed that you did not submit an email ticket to us until this morning; we will follow-up with you there and downgrade your account to the free plan if you would like. Thank you.
