I’m writing this to educate other people about Liberty Backhoe (Implements) and Freight Tailor and their deceptive shipping practices……

So….I purchased a Liberty Backhoe from Liberty Implements mid May 2015.  I did my research beforehand and read all the complaints about the long shipment time but everyone that eventually received their item seemed happy with it so I rolled the dice.  I initially expected to receive the item in about 2 months time even thought my estimated delivery time was 4 weeks.

About 3 weeks into the order I sent my first inquiry and was told the shipment may be a week late.  When I sent my second inquiry 4 weeks in I was pleasantly surprised to receive a shipment confirmation email with a Pro # and a link to a “Freight Tailor” web site www.freighttailor.com I figured I was going to be one of the lucky ones…..or not.

For 4 weeks I watched my Freight Tailor shipment crawl across the US from Arizona towards the East coast at a blazing speed of less than 80 miles per day.  It finally hit me that something was very wrong here so I researched Freight Tailor and I could find no contact information on the we.  Did this company really exist?  I found this http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/Freight-Tailor/internet/Freight-Tailor-Does-this-shipping-company-actuallly-exist-Internet-1211513 and this http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/kpx-tractors-phoenix-arizona-c378841.html

My research convinced me that I had been duped and I felt like a dolt.  After I recovered from my shame I decided to get proof that Freight Tailor was a bogus web site.  First, I submitted a legitimate shipping quote request using my work contact information and although the web site claimed someone would be in touch with me within a day I received no response…ever.  Secondly,  I thought to myself, what if I used my phony Pro # and added and subtracted numbers from it and plugged it back into the Freight Tailor web site?  Heavens to Betsy guess what I found…other customers tracking orders similar to mine.  I documented 21 other customers history (see link https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwjnkZzsbCK3bE5lYTViQ1BwQk0/view?usp=sharing ) and it appears you have a 30% chance of receiving your order.  I also got my proof in the fact that all of the order numbers are linked to Liberty Implements (you would assume Freight Tailor has other customers) and some of the Pro #’s are in consecutive order which no real freight company does.  You will also see that the 30% that were delivered have a legitimate freight company like ABF noted not Freight Tailor.

What would I do with this information?  Provide my story so others doing their research can decide for themselves.  Do you want to do business with a company that would rather try to deceive their customers by creating and maintaining a bogus freight web site or take that money and reinvest it into the company to provide better customer service.  I knew I had my answer but how to deal with terminating my order with all the information I knew.  I decide to take the high road.

I contacted customer service and asked when I would receive my backhoe expressing my dissatisfaction with the delivery time and I was told that many customers were unhappy with Freight Tailor and his boss should stop using them.  When I asked why there was no contact information of the web I was also told the only way his boss communicates with them is via email.  After Liberty acknowledged I wasn’t going to receive my backhoe in a timely manner I cancelled my order but not before being offered a last ditch $204 discount if I waited it out a little longer.  No dice.

Through all of my phone conversations over the 2 months I never once received a call back.  It was all effort on my part to get informed.

So here is my opinion what’s going on…when you order a device from Liberty Implements, your deposit is used by them to order and pay for the item from China.  If you’re quiet, you’ll wait and wait.  If you speak up, you’ll received a bogus Freight Tailor Pro # to buy them time.  If your angry, you’ll get someone else’s device via a legitimate freight company.  If you give up and cancel, your order goes to the next angry customer in line.  I’m sure I saved someone some time with the backhoe I gave up on.

So I used my back up plan and ordered another backhoe from a different company and received a real Pro # from Fed Ex and received the backhoe within a week.  The funny thing is my red backhoe is made in the same factory as Liberty (see attached pictures https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwjnkZzsbCK3R29RU3Z4djFLSDA/view?usp=sharing  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwjnkZzsbCK3M2VyNFV6SXY4VHM/view?usp=sharing )

Looking back I could have saved myself 2 months time if I heeded the other reviews but creating a bogus freight company? That’s sinking to a new low.  I can’t help but laugh at the thought that all those old farm hand faces on the Liberty web site were smiling because their Implement was on the way via Freight Tailor.
