www.freightcenter.com com quoted  me $800 to package and ship my DVD vending machine from Fountain Valley, CA to Everett, WA.  They said it would take 4 days once it was picked up for packing to arrive in WA.

4 weeks later my $30k vending machine was delivered to the wrong address dropped off the back of the shipping truck and placed on a sidewalk in the rain for 3 hours.

The packaging was done so poorly it caused over $800 in damage and broken parts. 

The water damaged rusted robotic motors causing them to freeze stuck, and flooded computer hardware at the bottom of the machine costing $3000+ in damage.  The machine's top mounted television wasn't removed from its mounting bracket during shipping (a requirement) and the TV was a complete loss filled with water and all the mounting holes were destroyed beyond repair.

I started a claim with freightcenter.com at the beginning of May 2012.  They said please allow 90 to 120 days for final decision on the claim but we will only pay a claim based on the total weight of the merchandise.

As of the posting date of this complaint it has been 150 days since the claim was filed and I haven't seen a dime. 

During all of my phone calls to them (that weren't dropped during transfer) I was given repeated  excuses claiming it wasn't there responsibility.

Then the bill came, my original $800 quote was now $1200 and they already had my cc info so they just charged the additional amount "because they could," according to the call center rep.

If you are considering using this company........you will have much less heart ache and monetary issues if you don't.  Call a shipping or packaging company directly, skip this useless middleman.
