Gainsaver.com Deceptive Pricing Practices Online

Gainsaver purports to offer discounted computers. On the surface, this appears to be true, but once you start adding the necessary architecture for their so-called deals to even run properly, prices quickly escalate to near or above what one would pay for the same item new. 

For example, they claim to sell used Macs at discounted prices. If you search for the computer model you're interested in, at first glance it looks as if they are selling it for a reasonable - but not great - price. But once you look at the details, you see that the basic components that come with that price are not even adequate to start up the computer. 

Specifically, as an example, look up an iMac. They offer to sell these with 512 mb of Ram unless you buy more. Which is a Joke, particularly with processors the latest processors. They are set to 40GB of data storage, which is a figure from the Stone Age of computers, practically. By the time you add on all of the features that are necessary to have a functioning computer, the price has skyrocketed.

Anyone would be better off going to Apple directly, or using a service like eBay or Craigslist. Bottom line, Gainsaver does NOT save you money. But it's a great racket for them, I'm sure.
