Game Crazy - Hollywood Video bought a PlayStation 3 was told it was backwards compatible it was not because i opened the box they would not refund my money because I opened the box. washington, District of Columbia

The day I bought my playstation 3 from gamecrazy,the sales person who made the sale seemed very helpful. I was looking for a Play station 3 that was backwards compatible able to play playstation 1,2, and 3 games. I was told it was, when he bought the box out it looked as if someone had opened it, He assured me it hadn't been I said ok no problem I bought that system two games one that was used he told me that I had to pay the same price for the used game as if it were new ok, bought it anyway reserved a game and purchased there vip card all together it was about $500.

The next day after I discovered that the system was not backwards compatible in less the 24 hours the purchase was made at 7:30pm I attempetd to return the system before 1:00 the next day. When I told them I wanted to return the system the sales associate asked me why, I explained "one its not backwards compatible, as well as I had found the system I wanted elsewhere" the associate pulled the system out of the box and said he could not return the system because it had been opened after handling the system he says to me its scratched up and covered in dust then puts the system on the counter begins setting things on top of the system scratching the system up more. I ask for the manager he's not there so i have to come back ok thats one trip the second trip walking around with a playstation 3 all day the manager tells me to call customer relations they take the complaint completely understand and say they will contact the district manager it is not almost 5:00pm then im told the process takes 3 days so now im sitting here with a system I don't even want.

I would not be so upset but I feel as though because I told the associate that I found the system I wanted else where they did not want to refund my money I have no idea what else to do I was lied to bought a system that I didn't want and was lied to on top of everything else. a warning Do not purchase anything from Game Crazy you will not get a refund if you are not satisfied with your purchase, you will get the run around and you will get lied to.
