I bought an account through www.gamewar.com then provided them (perhaps stupidly now that I think about it) with ID so they could verify my identity and issue with me with the account I bought. They have been very evasive/uncommunicative and have yet to issue me the account information. They have however sent me mail telling me that they have already sent me the account information and that I should check my spam inbox, its obviously not there.

When I sent them emails I got no reply or just an automated reply telling me to look at there 400 FAQ questions! At first I thought they might be busy but after 3 days with no reply I got fed up and got my wife and a couple of my friends to send inquiries about other accounts, they replied within 10 minutes of each inquiry.

I have since escalated the matter and reported it to paypal but before I reported them to paypal I sent them numerous emails asking for updates or information and received nothing. After filing a dispute with paypal they have sent me two emails, one to tell me that they have already sent me the account information along with a statement that they will attempt to send them again (why couldnt it be included in that email?!?) and the another email to tell me about things I need to know before they send me the account information. They sent me the emails in that order.

Right now I am feeling both extremely aggravated but also disappointed in myself as I appear to have walked right into a scam. I am currently in the process of a dispute (which will be escalated to a claim through my creditcard company soon) with paypal regarding this matter andI will keep this report up to date but as it stands at the moment it looks like Gamewar have ripped me off.

Got my money back + $50 gift certificate

AUTHOR: Gamer - (Australia)

POSTED: Monday, March 12, 2012

Adding to what I last posted:

- I dealt with gamewar, not gampal. I guess they are different businesses
- Gamewar refunded the payment once I requested it
- They also provided me a free $50 gift code

I ended up with a complete "win" out of this situation, used the $50 gift code, got my 2nd order right away, and love my new character!
