Around the first of September 2011 I saw an ad about how Gazelle.com would pay you for your used gadgets
(cell phones, cameras, etc.) and they would even pay the shipping.

So I went to their website and registered. I submitted an old cell phone I had and they said that they couldn't offer me any money for the item but they would recycle it for me if I sent it to them. They also said that they were going to pay me a New member Promotional fee of $20 and had me give them my PayPal information. I sent them the phone (paid for the shipping myself) and 2 days ago I received an email stating that they had received my item and inspected it and they reiterated the fact that they couldn't offer me any money for the phone. Nothing was said about the Promotional fee that I have yet to receive and nothing was said about reimbursing the shipping.

So I went into their Live Chat Room and spoke to one of their representatives. She found my account but was unable to determine the reason for me not having received my $20. She ended up telling me that she wasn't going to be able to answer my question...that the issue needed further investigation...and that she would open a Support Ticket and someone would be contacting me within the next 24 hours. She did respond to my question about Gazelle paying shipping by telling me that they only pay for the shipping if they purchase the item you sent. That was 36 hours ago and I still haven't heard
anything. Out of curiosity I went through the pre-submission process and submitted 2 digital cameras, a camcorder, my brand new LCD Monitor and my PC (which is only 1 year old). I got the same response on all items....We're sorry but we cannot offer you anything for your item. We will be happy to recycle the item for you if you send it to us. Makes me wonder if they actually pay anyone for the items they send in. They definitely do not honor the Promotional Fees they promise.
