Gazelle.com claims to pay you cash for your gadgets. I had 8megapixel digital camera, takes great shots, perfect condition. Based on their pitch, i opted to send them the camera for evaluation and they in return would give me an estimate of its value.

#1 UPDATE Employee
Response from Gazelle
AUTHOR: kristina - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, November 04, 2009
We try to go above and beyond to provide an awesome customer experience, and clearly that did not occur this time. Were not happy that this customer had a bad time using our service, and are taking this feedback on board. We hope you take the time to read this response and stay with us while we work to improve our service.
We looked into what happened with KD and heres what we found: when KD searched for their item on gazelle.com, KD would have seen a screen like this: http://www.gazelle.com/recycle-digital-cameras/kyocera/finecam-s/23585-Kyocera_Finecam_SL400R_Digital_Camera. This screen is designed to make it clear to the customer that the item they have no longer holds monetary value, but that they can make sure it is responsibly recycled by sending it into us. Per this offer, their item was immediately recycled when we received it. This customers experience has raised our awareness that the communication about recyclables may need to be clearer and we are already working to address that challenge.
Thanks for shining a light on this, KD.
