I've had a Lowes card for years.  The due date was always the 5th of the month.  After leaving my husband, I continued to pay the bill even though I never saw the statements.  I use online bill pay.  Last month he informed me the amount due was more than I was paying, here there was a late fee on the bill for not paying it on time.  The late fee was more than the normal monthly payment.

I called Lowes customer service to try and fix this situation, they were very nice about removing that late fee and I also requested changing the due date to the 15th of the month.  Thas was no problem, it wouldn't come into effect until this month, November 15.  I paid the October bill before their due date, the normal monthly payment, because that late fee was removed.

About two weeks ago I started receiving phone calls from GE Money about my overdue balance.  My normal monthly payment had been $29, I'd paid $30.  All of a sudden I was overdue $113 and they were determined I should pay it right now..  I stopped answering the phone when they called and called them myself, tried to explain my situation, and was more or less told that isn't the way it is, that the late fee was removed from my total balance.  I explained my finances at this time and that I couldn't pay that, also that I feel I am being ripped off.  I was told that if I could make the minimum payment of $38 (not sure where that amount came from) that they would set up special arrangements for me and that I should call back when I was able to do that, because I didn't have the money at the time.

I called yesterday to inform them that I made that $38 payment and was informed I still have to pay the rest of it, was offered no special arrangements, the idiot who barely speaks english laughed at me when I said their practices have to be illegal.  I ended up telling him that that would be the last money the get from me because at this point in time I really don't give a $%&# and hung up on him.  I then called the number they have to shut off my account and did that.  There is no way in hell I will ever use a card again that is going through GE Money Bank.

Lowes use to be really good to deal with.  If you missed a payment, you just paid a double one the next month.  If you were ahead on payments you owed 0 for a month. It's too bad they went with this nasty company, GE Money, now.  I would love a way to contact the CEO for Lowes just to inform him/her why they lost another customer.
