I HAD SOLID PROOF FORM A POLICE REPORT THAT THEIR "INSURED" WAS AT FAULT BUT THEY REFUSE TO PAY. ANYONE WHO DRIVES BETTER HOPE THEY DO NOT GET HIT BY A GEICO DRIVER. GOOD LUCK TRYING TO SQUEEZE A DIME OUT OF THEM. I WILL NEVER SAY ANYTHING BUT BAD ABOUT THEM. TOO BAD TO THOSE WHO ARE HURT AND NEVER GET COMPENSATED. SHAME ON YOU GEICO!!!

Wha??

I'm no claims expert, but if you choose a higher deductible, you take on the risk of having to pay out of pocket in these situations until your company can recover it. It's why your rate was lower before your accident. Your deductibles are COMPLETELY your choice. It's silly to expect a company to absorb the cost of your bad decision.
Additionally, to the last comment- if GEICO covers both of the drivers in an accident and has to pay out to someone either way there must be a reason you're being considered at fault. The only difference to them is the name on the check. No company is going to blindly payout to you based on a police report.

I agree with you, GEICO does suck! I was just in an accident two weeks ago, we both have GEICO and even though the police report said the other person was totally at fault 100%, geico does not go by that. It's so sad that things are done the way they are when there's an accident and another person at fault. I am like you, thought about small claims court, but am hesitant for all the reasons you listed. It's the principal of the thing....No one cares and no one will help..even the state commissioner. Geico's whole goal is to get a consumers deductible (and two in my case since we BOTH had geico) and not pay out for anything, they are trained to "find" a loophole even though it doesn't exist...they'll make one up.....they are sorry, corrupted, dishonest and i don't know how those adjusters sleep at night knowing how they treat people...
good luck with your situation....as for mine, I have a wrecked brand new corvette convertible and a perfect driving record that is now tarnished, and i have to cover everything myself even though I did nothing wrong other than drive down a hwy one day when someone decided to plow into my right side and throw me in circles....
my family says to let it go because it causes me great anxiety....i know they're right but HATE for anyone to get over one me....especially some dirty insurance company like GEICO!!!!!
hang in there! :)

I have been in three accidents in which Geico was involved and each time they paid all my bills and fairly compensated me for inconvenience. Their claims representatives are wonderful. Two of the accidents involved uninsured drivers that hid from Geico and would not make a statement. Geico only had my story to go by and they still took care of me. The other accident they were the insurance co. of my friend when he was driving us and got in a t-bone accident going 50 mph. AGain, I was taken care of.

THE ONLY WAY FOR ME TO GO AFTER THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE IS IF I TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT. THEN I HAVE TO TAKE TIME OFF FROM WORK, PAY TO FILE, NOT TO COUNT THE TIME I HAVE TO PUT IN PREPARING THE DOCUMENTS. I WILL KNOW FOR NEXT TIME IF I RUN UP AGAINST A GEICO CUSTOMER, I WILL JUST CONTACT MY LAWYER. I AM GOING TO HANG A BIG SIGN IN MY BACK WINDOW THAT READS "IF YOU ARE A GEICO CUSTOMER, DON'T HIT ME BECAUSE THEY SUCK!

I was in an accident a little over a year ago and the other driver had Gieco. My insurance company went after them and I not only got the cost of my repairs but I also got 400 of my 500 deductable back.
Even if it's below your deductable, your insurance comany should be able to help you, that's what you pay them for.
Also, you always have the option of taking the other driver to small claims Court of the police report is so cut and dry.

IT WAS JUST UNDER MY DEDUCTIBLE, THAT'S WHY THEY HAD ME GO AFTER THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE'S INSURANCE. NOW I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT OUT OF MY OWN POCKET, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE OTHER GUYS FAULT!!!

it does not matter what a police report says. the right to determine liability on an accident is solely reserved for the insurance companies based on insurance laws. where is your company during all this? what is the scenerio of this accident?

Why isn't YOUR insurance company handling things? They ahve a way of getting money out of the other insurance company I have had several accidents ( none in the alst 10 years) and the two I did ahve were not my fault, nut I ALWAYS still contact my insurance company and give them all the details of the accident and the otehr persons insurance etc and let them handle it. Works every time.
