I had a set of general ameritrac tires on my 2011 dodge 3500. I was traveling 70 mph on an interstate when I experienced a high speed come apart on my right front steer tire. The tread came off like a retread doing extensive damage ($7600) to the front and passenger side of the truck. As I began braking, the inner tire exploded causing additional steering problems. I was able to stop the vehicle with out physical contact with other vehicles or fixed objects but only because no other vehicles were near me. The tires had 20k on them. General refused to provide any compensation claiming that it was something I had hit in the road that caused the blow out. These tires are dangerous and should not be used. The company is a joke building low quality products and claiming fault elsewhere.
