I reviewed the website for GFORCE Perfomance Chips and based on the information stated on the website, dicided to order a performance chip for my vehicle. The a buddy told me this was a scam, chips do not work on vehicles after "96 with OBD2 ECM systems. So, I did some research and learned what he told me was true.

I also found this site while searching for info on GFORCE chips. http://www.performancechips.com/g-force-performance-chip-reviews.php#main

So, I called and requested an order cancellation, was told by "Clay" "No problem, your order has not shipped yet, so we can cancel and credit your card within 1-3 days. (this was at 4:03pm CST, and several hours later, they send me an email saying my order shipped! HUH?

Contact them the naxt morning (today) and they respond that it had already shipped Monday, when I was told Wed. it had not? Go figure?

Now I am told wait for it to arive, request an RA #, so I responded by requesting a UPS tracking number, which I am sure will not show it shipped until after I spoke with the Wed, and also requested a RA#. No responce yet, and can't get through to them on the phone!

Feeling very pipped off, even though it was only $70, this is wrong, and wish I knew what else I should do? Think I'll call the BBB, my credit card company, and theirs!

bad experience

AUTHOR: Jerry - ()

POSTED: Saturday, October 19, 2013

Hey thanks for writing about your experience with GForce chips. I bought it, installed it, drove it, experienced it, removed it and returned it all in 10 days time. I was lucky to have read your complaint but it was after buying it. As soon as I installed it the mileage on my odometer added about 1 mile to every 10 I drove, not na increase in mileage but an increase in miles read. Had other problems caused by this chip also but isn't the one I listed enough? It's been about 2 weeks and several hundred miles and I'm still waiting and hoping my mileage reading will go back to normal. Even in Hawaii it's a rip-off, mahalo!

gforce rip off

AUTHOR: rfb - (Canada)

POSTED: Thursday, January 17, 2013

hello everyone,i ordered two chips from gforce,[stupid me] i hooked one up to my 2012 tacoma and the check engine light went on with in 20 kms,i checked the code it was reporting a lean condition,i removed this crap chip from gforce and my truck is running normal now,i emailed gforce to ask for a refund and was told the money back guaranty was good for 14 day from purchase, well it took over two weeks for delivery,so they said no,if i sent it back i would have to pay the shipping there and back because they would not refund my money, they are crooks and should be sued,if i lived in the states i would file a small claims suit against them, its not the 180 bucks i spent on the chips that concerns me,i dont want that company to be able to rip any more people off,i have bought online from the states many times and have never been ripped off before,i hope gforce gets whats coming to them, and i mean being sued not collecting more money for a crap product.

No brainer

AUTHOR: DaytonCarCare - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 04, 2012

This is a "no brainer". If anyone claims to add up to 60 HP increase performance with a simple chip or wired patched device is smoking crack and/or both mentally challenged.

You're only going to get those kind of numbers with a supercharger, turbo, or NOS bolt on. And I guarantee, it will cost a lot more than $70 in doing so.

Most performance chips, like JC, (Jim Conforti did for OBD1 BMWs),  will add about 12 hp on average.

It's just common sense people. If automotive engineers (with college degrees and multiple years of (R&D) research and development  behind them) could add additional HP. Don't you think they'd already do that at the factory. Yes emissions and restrictions to intakes and exhaust can take a few extra HP from you. But if you start messing with that, you'll sacrifice MPG.

In this case ignorance is not bliss. Some of you people deserved to be scammed.

Package arrived, and as suspected, did not ship when Terry said it did! Another LIE!

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 08, 2011

The package is clearly post marked on Nov. 2nd, The same day I was told it didn't ship yet and my order could easily be cancelled. The same day I got the shipping confirmation, almost four hours after I cancelled my order! Then when I inquire the next morning, I am lied to and told it had already shipped on Monday! By Terry! A LIE!

I did request a RMA# so that it can be returned, and was promptly provided this number. I fully expect Terry will try to burn me for the shipping and 6% handling charge, and the 25% restocking fee as this is the game he plays, rather than be honest with customers.

I should not be forced to pay shipping and handling, and the 25% restocking fee because of the unethical buisness practices Terry chooses to use.  My order should have just been cancelled when I contacted them prior to it shipping! I will have to see how my Visa provider handles this! The BBB and Attourney General will be my next contacts!

No Tracking, and No RA, Something smells!

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, November 03, 2011

Well, I did recieve a return email, they sent USPS so there is no tracking information and was told to wait until I recieved the item to request a return authorization. I have notified my credit card co, and we will see when the package is post marked. although I called to cancel prior to order shipping, seems they charge a 6% handling fee in their shipping charge, and another 25% restocking fee, which would explain why they ship thing you try to cancel prior. Guess the post mark date will tell the truth on that. Will keep this updated.
