I was applying for jobs online and with every click, it took me to Gigats. I was asked to call a number for a preliminary interview. I didn't think that was strange since most companies these days require a pre-sscreen call before a live interview.  I called the number and was told that I had to agree to stay on the line for 20 to 30 minutes.

Ther" "interviewer" began by asking me provide personal information and immediately asked me if I was interested in furthering my career. i said no. Then I was told that employers these days want to know that potential applicants want to see interest in furthering my education,  Then more personal questions, then more time trying to get me to sign to an education program. I became suspicious...

Finally, I was asked what job I was applying for. I thought that was strange since I had clicked on a specific link indicating my area of interest. The "interviewer" then told me he had to check his database to see the positions that matched my needs. Surprisingly, all the options had education programs attached.  I soon became convinced that this was not at all related to a job search but to selling education programs.  I told him that I was uneasy answering any more questions.  He then told me that he would email me a list of jobs.  Of course that never happened but the calls began.  I must have received over 50 calls from various education programs, universities, online colleges and if not for adding them to my reject list, my phone would still be ringing.

Since I was applying for positions and all these sites ask for your phone number, you never know what call to answer because it could be kegitimate.

Gigats is a scam. They gather information then sell it to marketers, I am sure, for a fee. It's a horrible scam.
