Beware of this Con Man, I Paid him thousands of dollars for a snow removal route in november of 2010, and purchased his truck and snow plow. The truck and plow both required extensive work to make them remotley usable, which he claimed was all working before the sale. The route, after paying this guy we wrote a contract that detailed the exact number of stops, what they paid to complete service and how much I paid him for the stops. Gil never gave me a copy of this contract, he was always in a hurry to get somewhere else or mailed it and it came back or just forgot it at home.
After paying Gil for the route and truck which totaled about $10000.00 I soon discovered I was unable to bill my newly aquired customers directly or even to speak with them about their billing because Gil Burns/ Pacific Tree Service had year round contracts with them which included mowing and was unable to split the snow removal part. I asked for my money back but was scammed into beleiving that I was able to do the work and when these companies paid him he would just pay me.
That was never the case, I worked each stop all winter, kept paying to fix his junky equipment and when it was time to pay up I would have to hound Gil for money, when I did get paid it was always a lesser amount than what was due, I always had to drive to his location at his convenience or not get paid.
After an entire winter of chasing this Con Man I have almost all money that was due, He owes me $1125.00 and has changed his phone number as of today. I have some text messages from last week that he had my money and was mailing the check ofcourse the check never came and I now have no way to get what is due.
His new scam is getting lawncare contracts from unsuspecting companies such as Advance Auto Parts, Texas Roadhouse and Carter lumber then selling them to another sucker who undoubtedly will not be able to bill these people directly either. Be careful when dealing with this man he is very convincing. If your going to do any business with him have a lawyer check it out first, Im sure that will scare him off though as he knows he is skirting the law.
