Glamour Shots ripoff dishonest sales practices Lewisville Texas

On January 2, 2005 I purchased a Glamour Shots portrait club card. I was approached in the walkway at the Vista Ridge Mall in Dallas Texas by an associate of Glamour Shots and told what a "wonderful deal" this card is. The card is to include "Portrait Club Benefits" as follows:

1 FREE 8X10 THE DAY YOU JOIN
1 FREE 10X13 ON YOUR SECOND VISIT
1 FREE 8X10 ON YOUR THIRD VISIT

The sales associate also told me that for each of my family member's birthday I would receive a Happy Birthday postcard good for FREE session and 8x10 portrait which I did get for the 2 birthdays that have happened already this year. The second of the birthdays in our family is my 15 year old daughter who will turn 16 in May. I thought that this would be a good time to use the card since we live 2 hours away and only travel to Dallas for special occasions. My daughter wanted to take 5 of her friends and have a picture created. I called the Studio to make the appointment and it was immediately obvious that I had been taken by a huge scam. First off I was told that this card "only covers families". No where on the card OR in the sales pitch was I told that. In fact, I specifically asked if it would work for my daughter and her friends and I was assured it would.

Next, I was told that this was going to cost $80 per person in the picture, as it would have to be booked as a birthday party! I told the associate that I didn't want a birthday party I just wanted some pictures of my daughter with her friends. Next she said she could do it for $30 per person for sitting fees. Remember, I have a useless card that says I get free sitting fees for a year! Finally, the associate says that the best she can do is offer me a "family sitting fee of $50 plus 10 each for the number of people over 4 (what Glamour Shots defines as a family). This would mean that I will now have to pay a "sitting fee" of $70.

Finally, knowing that this is what my daughter wanted I relented and made the appointment to have the picture done. When I told my daughter about the appointment she reminded me that they had another commitment the night before and I may want to make the appointment a little later in the day. I called Glamour Shots again to change the appointment time and was put on hold. I was told the associate needed to talk to me. Instead, a person got on the phone and identified herself as a manager and said that she knew I had this club card but that didn't matter and the only way I could have this picture done was to pay $80 per person in the picture! I have e-mailed the company and not yet received a response. All I can say is watch out! Even when you have it in black and white this company WILL NOT DELIVER!!!!!
