Global Moving Solutions A one bedroom move that took 12 hours!! los angeles, California

Working with Global Moving Solutions was the worst experience of my life. We moved from a 1 bedroom apartment into a 2 bedroom apartment and the move cost us $800 and took 12 hours.  When I complained about the amount of time the move took the mover said we have alot of stuff.  We have a normal amount of furniture for two women who are moving into a two bedroom apartment.  The company provides two movers who clearly are not trained well because there is no reason for the move to have taken so long.  In addition the day of the move I was informed that I had to pay cash and that they would charge me $69 to shrink wrap my furniture and charge me for the use of wardrobe boxes that they originally told me would be free.  They did decide to honor the wardrobe box cost and said they would give a discount on the shrink wrap.

Ten hours into the move they asked if they could bring another man who could be there in ten minutes to help the move go smoothly. The additional mover showed up and it still took an additional two hours. When my sister and I left the apartment to get the money from the ATM the movers decided to stop working because they said they did not know if we were coming back.  He called his boss who wanted to charge us for another hour because the men stopped working because they felt we were at the ATM too long.  They threatened to put the rest of our furniture in storage if we did not pay the additional money.

In addition to taking an exhorbitant amount of time to move us they punched a hole in my wall, cracked my coffee table and broke the zipper on my sister's suitcase. They claimed that the hole in the wall was no big deal and denied responsibility for the crack in the coffe table.

I would suggest that no one ever use this moving company.  There are other complaints on this site and I am sure other stories out there.
