I switched my merchant service processing to Global Payments on December 2005 after persistent offerings by one of their salesmen. This salesmans boss belonged to a networking group that I belonged to and felt that this would give further reliance on Global Payments service.

I was offered a rate that would beat existing fees significantly so I proceeded to change to their service.

First violation to my trust of this company was to raise my rate only two months into the service. Now I am back to where I was. When I called my sales rep to complain about this it turns out that he is no longer with the company. I figured that I would cut my losses and accept that at least I am not paying more than I was.

In the transition I had also purchased a processing machine that I was assured was compatible with most processing companies.

My real complaint about Global Payments is as follows.
Periodically I do some exporting of my products and on late May early June I had a significantly large order placed and my customers chose to pay via credit card therefore creating a significant spike in my processing.

This set off a so called fraud investigation whereby they claim Visa and Master Card will not allow this type of transaction. The real issue is that Global Payments has ceased funds in an approximate value of $ 18,000.00 and refuses to release to my company or reverse it to the cardholder any sooner than 180 days. Plus they still debited our bank for the processing of these purchases in an amount of $ 860.00 although we did not derive any benefit from the transaction nor will they cooperate in reversing the funds back to the card holder.

Global Payments has also frozen my Point of sale machine whereby I can not conduct retail transactions. The damage Global Payments has caused my company is insurmountable plus the predicament I have been placed in with regards to my customers.

Finally as a last result I changed processing companies and am having to process credit cards virtually. The new company that I signed with has stated to me that the machine that I own is not compatible with their processing contrary to what Global Payments assurances.
